Observation of Mare Do Well (WARNING: MINOR SPOILER FOR SEASON 6 IN THE END)

What if, in an alternative universe, Mare Do Well is her own pony? An alicorn in hiding.

In the show, Mare Do Well is presented as an alicorn, based on her capabilities to have all the abilities of three races. She seems to focus on her duty in saving ponies while being a symbol of what it means to be a hero. Somepony who do the right thing for the sake of doing the right thing.

I called Mare Do Well an alicorn in hiding because she is doing all these good deeds under a mask and don't talk. That shows how much she don't want to be discover and prefers to live her life outside of royalty or some other reasons. Perhaps she don't like being in the spotlight.

The origin of Mare Do Well could go in different ways. Like Cadance, she could be a regular pony before she suddenly turn into an alicorn after using her special talent in an act of heroism. Or, she could be an apprentice to Luna a long time ago before Nightmare Moon. I believed her to be Luna's apprentice because she and Luna shared a few similarities. Both ponies are solitary in their work (not counting the times the sisters are needed to save Equestria), have a cool color scheme, may interact with the citizens, and take pride their work. We know Celestia have at least two apprentices so why not Luna have one?

If Mare Do Well did go through ascension, then what would be her original race? I say an earth pony partly because we already have two ascended alicorns who were an unicorn and pegasus one time in their life so why an earth pony? After all, alicorns are the harmony of all three races so why not have an earth pony ascend to alicornhood? The other thing is earth ponies have magic just like pegasi and unicorns, and may have the potential to have their own element like Cadance's element of love as Twilight's Friendship. I don't know what element Mare Do Well would have if she ever existed.

If she does exist in the show, then she would be a good counter part to Twilight. Somepony who focus on their duty in protecting ponies through direct action, able to do their duties in solitary, and probably resent the idea of being a princess due to the whole royalty aspect.

EDIT AFTER SEASON 6 FINALE: That or a friendly changeling similar to Thorax took the suite to become a mask hero. Mare Do Well and the changelings have the same eyes. Share your thoughts if you have any.
