Holy crap! So THIS is where all out S5 songs went!

I was just browsing a brony YT video when I noticed the little caption at the bottom of the description...

It had changed.

MLP: Friendship is Magic - "It's a Pony Kind of Christmas" Audio Track

Wait. What?

A quick click of the link found me at a new song. A new Christmas song.

Two things occurred to me: How the hell did I not know about this earlier? And is Christmas canon now? I thought it was heathswarming eve.

Faust would be pissed, I'd say.

But after a little more research, I found that there isn't only one new christmas song. Ohhhh, oh no. There's TEN.

TEN OF 'EM! That's where all of our season 5 songs went! Goshdarnit, these better be good!

So, without further dribble, here are all the songs:

1. It's a Pony Kind of Christmas Meh. It's OK, but not anything special.
2. Jingle Bells This is actually a pretty good idea for a christmas song. "Dashing through the snow", ha! Suits RD quite well too, I must say, this one is actually pretty decent.
3. Deck the Halls Very Rarity. And.. actually not too bad. Pretty decent, actually. I like how it's so... majestic.
4. We Wish You a Merry Christmas Ah, a solo Twilight song. I can't remember how long it's been since one of those. I quite like it actually, we have some classic Twilight antics too. (Gotta love the bookishness )
5. Silent Night Ah, Fluttershy solo. Nice and flowing, smooth, but not a song I would give an award to. Still, it was... nice.
6. Twelve Days of Christmas From the moment this song began, I could tell this was a Pinkie Pie song. I'm not too into Pinkie Pie songs, as I think they're not flowing enough and a bit obnoxious, but I've come to appreciate some of her songs. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. And that crap goes on for 3 minutes 15 seconds. Dear god. But, I listened to this one so you don't have to.
7. Last Year I Got Coal for Christmas Ah, a nice solo song from... wait. Wait. Who the crap is this!??!?! It's a male, but... who's that voice? Because of the theme of the song, I would assume an antagonist... but who? Ok, get this. I did some research into the character, turns out Pop Fly sings it. But, it turns out that Pop Fly is voiced by the same V.A as Flash Sentry... heh, heh. Coincidence? I think not. But, let's take a look at this actual song. And, this might very well be the only male-vocals song done apart from Glass of Water. This song isn't too bad actually, and so I've got to give this song highly commended.
8. Jolly Ol' St. Nick Oh! OoOoOoOoOoO! A Spike song! Yay! I must say, this is very Spike-ish. "Come give it to me Santa!" Enough said.
9. Days Gone By (Auld Lang Syne) Apple family. Now, here is something that people have been talking about: Is this song about Applejack's dead parents? I mean, this song is a song in real life, but having Applejack sing it just seems like too much of a co-incidence considering the lyrics. Oh well, food for thought. This song is actually really nice, I think I underaprecciate Apple family songs.
10. The Heart Carol What is this? The vocals are... what's it called? It's a choir. This reminds me of 'Princess Twilight Cometh' and songs like that. Not too shabby.

Well, there's 28 minutes of song that breaks canon and has basically nothing to do with the show. I need to get one thing out of the way before I continue:

Those songs... weren't too bad, actually. I mean, I think I'd prefer more songs in the show, but... oh well. I can confirm that none of these songs are canon, as stated by Daniel Ingram himself:

...this album shouldn't be considered "canon." Ponies in Equestria still celebrate Hearth's Warming Eve, not Christmas, so try not to worry about that...

So, there you go. A bunch of new songs. Yipee. Yay. What a happy surprise. And sad Applejack song about dead parents not canon, boo-hoo.

Now, are you guys ready for The Mane Attraction? Cuz that episode is going to have an actually brilliant song in it. Oh man, I cannot wait.
