Looks like the universe really went out of it's way to break Pinkie, huh?
I'll be honest, I didn't think this was that great of an episode- I mean, it could be just me, but I think that the premise of Pinkie keeping a secret for a whole day is a bit flimsy. This one really didn't stick with me, for some reason. It seemed like it was well put-together, I even laughed at a few of the jokes, and I'm elated that Shining and Cadance are having a foal. But darn it all if this just seemed like the wrong way to go about it. I mean, for all intents and purposes, it would've been more logical for Mrs. Cake to not tell Pinkie at all? Also, we've seen Pinkie Pie able to keep a secret before, and this really shouldn't be any different, should it? On the other hand, I really hate the trope that Pinkie can't keep a secret, but I guess this was good in that this was finally debunked, even though it's clear it's borderline painful for Pinkie to keep it in. I suppose it could be seen as a good episode, to see Pinkie's over the top personality trying to keep the secret, but...other than that? This episode wasn't one of the best, especially being the one that was the announcement of Shining and Cadance's foal. All in all, it wasn't super fantastic, but it still had it's moments. Though I do hope to see Cadance further along in the pregnancy, if only to see her character model change- if we don't see her again, it won't be a huge loss, but it would still be a nice touch, I think. Anyway- that's all I've got for now!
