I leave for five minutes and the world explodes! · 11:35pm Oct 10th, 2015

I can't leave this fandom alone for five minutes can I?

First, lets get the big stuff out of the way,its the five year annivesary!!!!

Yes, it's been five years and you know what? It's been one hell of a great ride. Drama? Sure, but tht is to be expected. Are there individuals in this fandom I would rather not talk to and find to be deplorable? Yeah, but the way I see it, they are also fans, just not the type of fan that I am. They like the show in their way,and I like it in mine. Lets not fight over if I am right or if they are right or whatever.

When I look at it like this, and compare the feeling I have for this fandom at this point in comparison to the way I felt in the TGWTG fandom, I think I can geinuenly say that I would take the worst brony drama for one day than ANYTHING I had faced in the TGWTG fandom. Because when I look at it as a whole, the drama here is relealtitvly small in comparison to the other fandoms I am a part of. While I admit to there being some undesirables out there, to try and say "All of the fandom is wrong, they are all evil" is a disservice to all of the good bronies out there, to all of the friends that I have made here (Except Spidermenderpony, he knew what did!) , and to all of the good. To say its toxic, does a disservice to all of the good that I enjoy from being here everyday.

Because you know what? Being here for five years, and all I see is: The lovely fanart that graces my screen everyday, the wonderful fanfics that I spend reading, and of course...the awesome fans. The people who go and do nice things for each other, who help one another, and even make me laugh. Someone once said, that they like to think of cons when they think of the good fans out there. I do something else.

I think of all the people that we helped.

I think of how accepting we are of LGBT and races.

I think of how much fun we have together.

I think if you were to look at it as a whole, as a sane brony once said, that if you look at the fandom as a whole. 10% is in the drama , while the rest of us are-

Yeah, like that. See, I don't see the guys who create drama and are jerks as the real fandom. You know who I think of? I want you to go and look at a mirror. See that person there? Yeah, you. That is who I think of when I think of the brony community, all of my awesome friends and fans out there. There is only one other fandom that makes me nearly as happy as here, and that is the B5 fandom.

So thanks, to all of you for five years.

And one more thing

I want to say someting about the spoilers of the episode...

Though I havent seen it, I read a spoiler and I want to talk about it. Five years ago, we met Applebloom, Scoots, and Sweetie Belle. Now, any other show in this age range, and this demographic could've made these kids the scrappy. Become worthless and make me hate every episode that they were in. And for one episode, I did; however, thanks to the show's clever writing and attention to making sure that they were characters first, I begna ot fall in love with them like I did the mane six. I loved how they approached siblinghood in three unique ways, I loved how they worked together and became good girls in their own right. Overtime, they represented the desire to grow up and discover who they were. I was glad to see them in EQG because I would've been wondering about them throughout the movie.

And now, this show proves its mettle again and why I love it, by letting things happen. By letting stories flow and characters to change, the show did something we had been waiting for and from what I saw, the people love it. This is why I admire this show so much. I mean, sure, SU, Wander Over Yonder, and Star are great shows, but...anyone can make a show like this if they have the heart and skill. You ust need to put in effort behind it. But, to take a show like MLP, aimed at 6-10 year olds and make the characters likable, to add development and changes to the story when anyone else could've said "It's just a show for youngsters, we don't need to put in effort". That is something special. They could've just said, "its just a kids show" but instead, said "Lets aim it at kids, but make it so EVERYONE can ejoy" that takes something special. So thanks Lauren, Larson, AKR and everyone else behind this show. For five wonderful years.

And to you gals

Congrats
