It's Alive! (Sort Of.)

It's been nearly a year since A Mare to Soar For was released. There hasn't been an update since February. Last thing I said about it is that I wanted to re-write it, and that is still true - and I'm hoping to get it out of the door before its first anniversary.

The first chapter is going to change considerably. I've spent hours and hours and hours trying to make the current setting work. But for the life of me I just cannot get the words down on the page. Whatever I do just doesn't feel right: it doesn't flow properly, it's awkward and stilted, it doesn't feel 'punchy' enough in the action parts, etc. And to top it off, it's a giant mess. Just look at this!

I honestly didn't know what to do. I was thinking of just shifting it onto hiatus indefinitely and forgetting about it. But then something wonderful happened: Rarity Investigates aired. And it gave me an idea. A wonderful new idea that I reckon I can actually write properly.

So now AMtSF is going to start by following Soarin, Spitfire and the other 'Bolts directly after the events of that episode. Hopefully I'll be able to actually deliver this time (I know I haven't got a very good track record, but I'm going to really try on this one), and I hope you'll enjoy A Mare to Soar For Mk. II just as much - or even more than - the fic as it is now!
