I give up on Youtube · 2:19pm Sep 30th, 2015
That's it. I'm done with Youtube.
I'm that kind of person who HATES spoilers and/or knowing what will happen in an episode, or even the name of that episode, before it is released. It totally ruins the surprise, and I don't know why people like so much watching leaked episodes if they can just wait for the official release, with a much better quality, and see it all.
Now, when I was going through Youtube, guess what I saw? The thumbnails of lots of scenes from MLP that I didn't recognize. And a title that I had never seen. I won't say what it was, because some of you might be like me, but seriously, why ruin the expectation? Why transform what could be a major plot twist into a simple "I knew it"?
Below there are spoilers for Friendship Games. so click if you have already watched it.
This is not even the first time it happened. A long time ago, I was watching a video from RR and going through the comments, I saw something about "Midnight Sparkle" and "EG3 villain". When the time Twilight transformed arrived, we all knew what was going to happen at the stream (some might not have known, and I don't remember seeing any comment about "Midnight" on the chat, so if you were there, thanks for having some common sense) and it ruined the surprise. It ruins headcanons; By the start of the movie, I said "I bet SciTwi will go to CHS when it ends", and guess what? I was right. I was excited about being right. Not only it made my story closer to canon, it also opened up the doors for the sequel. Of course, not all is perfect: Shining apparently wasn't married to Cadence, there was no need to "explain the magic" to Twilight, but still, my headcanon was right. I was excited. And that is because I didn't know what would happen, so I had to imagine what would happen. It's like guessing what your friends are gonna give you on your birthday. If you know what it is, you like it, but don't get too excited. If you don't know what it is, but you try to guess it, if you're right, you'll explode with happiness. At least I'd do.
Anyway, I'll stop ranting now. This has gone too long and I don't think I need to say anything else.
