How violently would you all kill me if I wrote a clopfic?
Because I already did. While waiting on the edits for my HiE, I got bored and started looking through some old documents. I found the beginnings of a shipfic, and after a moment of thinking, a story was born. I'm wrapping up the last thousand or so words as we speak, and honestly, this experience (and reading many well-rate clopfics) has showed me how blind I was about erotica. Sure, stories that are written purely for the sake of being written, and are in fact pornography (I'm looking at you, Fifty Shades of Gray) are one thing, but erotica... when well written and well placed, it can be as beautiful as any other kind of writing.
As so many authors have put it, good erotica should be, first and foremost, good writing. When sex serves a genuine purpose in a story, whether it features equines or humans, I believe it should be judged fairly rather than cast away.
Mmmhmm. Pretty much this.

Clop fic clop fic
On any other show, I'd be right behind you. But I just can't bring myself to read anything explicitly sexual on My Little Pony. I'm not gonna diss you for writing and uploading it here, but I'm not gonna read it, regardless of how poetically beautiful it is.

Yeah, I tried doing it once. It got roughly 2 times as many views as my 4 other stories combined (but I'm a very unpopular writer, mostly because I'm a literary failure
). Anyway, I will definitely read it and think nothing less of you, but don't say I didn't warn you. 
Just be careful what you get yourself into. 
Well I don't normally read clop-fics, but meh if the storyline goes smoothly and since you already wrote it....just post it man

*ahem* Yes, I believe that all erotica be classified in two areas. It can be pornography if that's your thing, and write it just to show two characters going at it. That's fine, and I encourage it if that's how you express yourself... OR, it can have a purpose, being there for love or being a scene-break in what could potentially be a long story.
If it can show emotion and make you really feel that characters are in love, you've written a clop successfully.
I'm somewhat neutral when it comes to clopfics.
