if Doctor Fate said it, it can only be true:eeyup:

The Lord of Order has spoken!

Hmm, thinking bout it, it would be interesting to have Fate and Discord clash as polar opposites.

i think he'd be fucked

Not even the Spectre, Old Testament God's vengeance incarnated, could really do anything to the helmet.

Yep, Discord is screwed.

3409108 Superman vs Dr. Fate who wins ?:trollestia:

The only Doctor Fate I've really read is the one from Earth-2.

That was back when Earth-2 wasn't being written by terrible people who are ruining a golden opportunity to write amazing stories and characters. :twilightangry2:

Full brawl? Fate, because of magic. Unless Clark plays dirty and goes for the Helmet directly.

Well, if you're open to recommendations, Countdown to Mystery is quite good, but it's hard to find (unless you download it, in which case, googles does all the work).

Also viewcomic.com has the current series. I personally like it, but it's too soon to say anything.

I've only known of Dr Fate from his appearances on Batman: The Brave and the Bold (the animated series). But those were great, and all those teamups did say a whole lot about friendship, actually. So it definitely works. Dr Fate has the right idea.

...And I just now realize that Batman was pals with absolutely everyone, no matter how famous or obscure. Batman is the DC version of Pinkie Pie.

Dr Fate is my favourite character in DC, apart from Green Lantern. I loved his portrayal in Young Justice and in the Smallville episode 'Absolute Justice'. Makes me wish they would use him more.

Hey, have you seen the new series? Is not the next Eisner winner, but it's quite entertaining.

The one that started after Convergence. Paul Levitz and Sonny Liew co-write (decent with some highlights) while Liew is on charge of the art.

The series' quality is, honestly, not regular, but it has a minimal of good narrative that it accomplishes. It retakes the Egyptian mythology theme and runs with it to full extent and gives Fate something only one of his previous eight incarnations has had; an actual doctorate in medicine. Khalid "Kent" Nassour is son of an Egyptian immigrant and descendant of pharaohs and a freshman in medicine. It has a lot of similarities with the pre-New 52 versions of the character and some with Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle, but it definitely aims for an original flavor.

The art is nothing out of the ordinary; half-traditional comic book, half-80's Vertigo. It can feel messy at some points, but it sustains the visual narrative and it's consistent with the tone, so after issue #1 you can get accustomed to it.

Again, this is not the next year's winner of the Eisner award, but it tells a nice origin story and background to an iconic character, respecting the classical themes (Nabu, the Helmet) while also adding new (younger, family relationship).
