Along with chapter 5, the heavily proofread and corrected versions of Chapters 1 and 2 have been put into place. Chapters 3 and 4 will follow, probably tomorrow or the day after. I hope I've learned a thing or two about tense, among other things.
Homonym confusion problem solved! I was using the word "lead" when I should have been using "led!" Sakes alive, and I consider myself to have a large vocabulary, but sometimes things like that are so embedded in your brain, you just can't shake them!
Misused words! I found a couple, actually! You don't "spin" things "to and fro", you "spin" things "around" now, don't you?
-ing words! I am absolutely in love with -ing words, and it's apparent! "But is it good or bad? Is it a problem with tense or not?" he wondered, thinking it was probably bad most of the time, but in some situations can be acceptable.
Thought punctuation! "But I wonder which I should use," he wondered, quotes or italics... both are acceptable, apparently. Why can't there be hard and fast rules for things like this?
Second-Person narration! WHOA BUDDY, just kick that bad habit into a ditch, thanks.
So many more little fixes I can't even begin to list them all.
Do you need to re-read chapters one and two? Naaaah, don't bother, unless you just really feel like it. As flawed as the old versions were, they told the story just fine.
