New Friendship Games 'Sneak Peek' · 2:00am Aug 30th, 2015
Just a warning here, there are major spoilers in this blog considering the new 10 minute teaser released yesterday. Consider yourself warned.
So, first off, here it is:
And WOW, 10 minutes? That's like... half an episode, and a sixth total of the entire movie. Talk about spoilers. But YOLO, I shall watch it.
First thing I notice is Twilight's 'cutie mark' that's on her hair. It's like her normal one, only without the five smaller white stars. It would make sense if that twilight had not met the other five yet, as those white stars mostly signify them.
The music is a bit... weird. It's interesting in its style, to say the least. I'm not used to semi-techo-dubstep as background music.
I find Sunset extremely... sappy? I don't know if that's the right word. She feels just WAY too nice, and even though that makes sense, I find it cringeworthy. It's not a problem per say, It's just that she's like Fluttershy but with that extra level of expression in her voice. I don't even know if I know what I'm talking about here...
"Well that's a relief, the last thing we need is another magical so and so bent on world domination coming over from Equestria." *Wink*
This line has made my appreciation of Applejack go way up. And the way that Sunset reacted was brilliant. Lovely scene.
Rainbow Dash is the one to find out who the person was at the portal, for once. Normally she's the one who sits by and watches as someone else figures it out, but this time, she actually did something. I'm liking this.
Not everything has to be magical to be important
Standing ovation! That's the best line I've seen in a while. Amen, Fluttershy.
Oblivious princesses are oblivious to the lackluster applause. (Ahem, principals, not princesses)
"You mean, other than us loosing!?!?" OOOOO BURN, FLASH. We're seeing some serious Flash Sentry action here. Twilicorn would be disappointed.
Wait....WAIT! A RAINBOW DASH SONG!?!?! FUCCCKK YESSSS!!! W-wait, Vinyl... what are you doing- HOLY CRAP LOOK AT THE BASSS!
Well, that was certainly a song.... phew! I liked that.
We finally see Rainbow Dash becoming a half-decent character in this movie. A song that's not about her vanity, she's helping the school... etc etc. I guess it would make sense since sports are Rainbow's forte, but nonetheless, it's nice seeing this change.
Edit: Holy shit! I just noticed something. Notice the beige-skinned, hot-pink-haired girl singing with RD? She looks exactly like one of the Shadowbolts members. Co-wink-e-dink? I think not. Spy? I think so.
I really am looking forward to the Friendship Games.
