MLP Reviews Season 2 Episode 14: Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 · 6:06am Jul 25th, 2015
*Flash of lightning as the AW appears in the second season of MLP*
Well, folks it would seem that while we wait for the next new episode of MLP I am going to review a past season of MLP. I thought we might mix things up a little bit.
What? You people think I would go through this season 1 through season 4 and review episode by episode? I wanted to be creative with this idea.
Autistic Writer: Alright computer, tell me when am I?
Computer: According to the MLP timeline, you are in episode 14 of Season two.
AW: why does that sound familiar? *As he started to think, he saw a glass of cider on the ground. He levitates it and smiles* OHHHH Free Cider
Computer: AW, do you think it’s wise to pick up a random glass of cider from the ground.
AW: Hey, nothing can go wrong with drinking random cider from the ground. Besides, I wonder who our villain for this episode is.
*The AW starts to drink the cider and sudden sees two unicorns appearing ontop of a machine*
Unicorn 1: He’s Flim
Unicorn 2: He’s Flam
Together: We’re the famous Flim & Flam Brothers.
AW: *looks into the empty cider glasses* In Tartarus’s demonic name did I just drink?

So, you are going to wonder what do I like about this episode?
Well, Since there wasn’t really any characters that stood out, I will skip the characters who shined and didn’t shine for this review. I will be looking over the Theme/Morals.
Moral/Theme:
The only one I could think of is Quality over Quantity.
Applejack’s Cider represented Quality while the Flim Flam Brothers represented Quantity. For those of you that don’t know, Quality is focusing on how good the product is. Quantity is focusing on how many products there are.
Well, let’s go to what I liked and what I didn’t like?
What I liked: Well, I liked the moral, I liked the battle between Quality and Quantity. I even thought the contest felt similar to a folktale I heard back in my childhood; more on that later.
What I didn’t like: I guess I don’t like how the ponies were anger at Applejack and her family for not having enough Cider. I also didn’t like the Flim Flam brothers. I didn’t like Apple Bloom butting into the conversation. They seemed kind of old fashioned. I don’t even like the whole “6000” thing. I understand it is an invention, but what is the point of everything being in the thousands. Gees, that cliché needs to stop. There was another thing I didn’t like as well.
*Flim and Flam start singing*
Me: Will you stop Singing?
*They continue to sing*
Me: Shut up
*Still Singing*
Me: SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP
*Singing stops*
Me: Man the Nostalgia Critic's Review of Tom and Jerry the movie was right. Doesn't anyone know how to say yes or no, anymore? Let’s get onto my final thoughts.
But, first a little story about this folktale I mentioned earlier.
I mentioned earlier that the contest reminded me of a folktale I heard when I was a kid. It was called John Henry.
Flim and Flam: Isn’t he the superhero from the DC comics that is made of Steel.
Me: Yeah, but the folktale was probably inspiration for Steel. This folktale is about John Henry, a railroad worker, who fought against a large machine in a contest to see who could build a railroad the fastest. (Probably got this wrong, but who knows?)
Let’s get to the conclusion.
Conclusion: I really didn’t like this episode. I already explained why in What I liked the least in this episode. Also, it felt a bit lacking when trying to make it like a Manpower vs machine episode. There are actually two works that did it much better.
One is a Disney version, which I only have little memory of.
The second one is a spongebob episode Legends of Bikini Bottom, I believe. In the segment, “Spongebob vs. Patty Machine” it mixed the fable John Henry along with Spongebob’s humor as well.
I have a headache, so I give this episode a 6 out of ten.
Applejack: I didn’t learn anything. I was right all along.
Me: *Glares and takes back the rating sign. Uses a black marker to cross off the six to give it the new rating.* Correction. This episode gets a 3 out of ten. Applejack didn’t learn her lesson. What kind of horrible message is that sending to the kids?
Well, since last week I forgot to send this episode, you will be getting another review from me, tommorow or later today. Tommorow’s review, I shall leave a riddle as a clue to figure out which episode I am reviewing.
The Muppets, Jason Voorhees and Rarity. What do they have in common?
