Midnight Chat With Sorcerer The Sequel · 7:41am Jul 8th, 2015

Hey guys! It's Isabelle with another Midnight Chat With Sorcerer.

Thank you, Miss Isabelle. Now, let's have ourselves a little midnight chat.

First off, after experimenting (and losing my mind) earlier, I found out that the most popular form of comedy is randomness. Some do it well, such as the majority of YTPs I've seen and Monty Python, and others like modern SpongeBob and a lot of shows on Cartoon Network...don't.(No, I haven't seen Steven Universe. Yes, I want to.) When I showed everyone the self-proclaimed "worst fic ever" made by me, most people liked it. I wasn't even trying. I just randomly put whatever came to mind in under 20 minutes and people liked it. Is that really what it takes to be a fimfiction comedian, or is there something more to it?

Take satire for example. PonyRiffs and The Cynical Brony are both experts at their trade, that being satirical humor, yet they are not as popular as, say, Eris H Discordia or Happy. I am not saying I don't like any of the people mentioned, just giving out examples. Both PonyRiffs, Rage Reviews ect. are very popular. Rage Reviews being the most. Why? Their placement of memes and humor. The memes, of course, appeal to the "randomness" factor. Their...err..."witty" comments about the work mentioned appeal to the satirist inside us.

But, should everyone be able to grasp this "randomness factor"? Should it be used in every comedy to ensure the approval of the general public and even maybe critics? That's a no. As I said before, randomness has its flaws. There are some bad randomness works out there. The most of them by Cartoon Network. They're trying to get a hold of the randomness factor but it keeps slipping out of their hands. Randomness could become the new clop. Soon, every single fic you see will be either randomness, clop or sadfics! Nah, that'll never happen. Or will it? Or will it not? Why am I asking you all these questions anyways. Let's move on to a new topic.

How about Moondancer, the character featured in the most recent episode of MLP, Ammending Fences.

Despite being a color swap of Twilight, she's gained quite a following and is actually a great character.

Kinda reminds me of someone else I know.

Anyways, Moondancer has even become, to my knowledge, a popular ship for her "doppelgänger."

KIND OF LIKE SOMEONE ELSE I KNOW!

Wait...ISABELLE, WHAT THE FLYING F*** WAS THAT?! GET RID OF IT!
Tee hee! But it's so cuuuuute!

(Sigh)

Unlike a lot of ships, which I've merely brushed off, I can find this actually working. There's a lot of material to work with, concidering the fact that Moondancer was extremely disappointed at specifically Twilight not coming to her party. They've been best friends since they were fillies, they are both very interested in books and overall have great chemistry together as seen at the end of the episode. While I still support Twixie, just because of best pony, I find this to be one of the best ships the show has produced in a while. Well, keep it classy my friends and ciao, Loyal Viewers.

Thanks for the mention, but I'll have to disagree with you on the Moondancer X Twilight ship. It only works because Moon was a direct copy of season 1 Twilight, nothing more. Therefore, Twidash is still the only Twilight ship I'll give credence.

By the way, is Layton any good? I'm heading into the last AA game, Vs. Layton, and I need to know how much backstory is needed.

3219333 I had never played a Layton game before I played PWvsPF but I wasn't really confused in any way. I just knew Layton was a professor and Luke was his assistant. Also, the Layton games are surprisingly very good. I'm playing Last Spectre right now.
