    Story update

No, neither of the story ideas I mentioned last week are cancelled. This post is more to start what I hope to be monthly updates - weekly once I post stories again - on the stories, with this one being the one where I announce the story of the two I'm working on.

A break from my Displaced and crossover fics.

It's as the title suggests. I'm taking a break from writing my Displaced stories. As of now, they aren't cancelled, so don't worry about it. I've just lost the drive for them right now is all. The same for my crossover fics right now. Again, as of now, they are not cancelled, and I don't feel like putting every single one on hiatus right now. I'll still be writing-right now, a rewrite of my

    Season 7 finale

So, the last few episodes of the season were leaked online, and I just finished watching them through to the finale. This is a review with spoilers, so the short of it is that the last two episodes of the season were great. Spoilers below the break.

Why I hate Celestia · 8:12am Jun 22nd, 2015

This blog is really just a vent for me, but I'd still like to know what you guys think. Lately, I've started reading a fic called The Rise of Spike the Dragon, and it actually adressed a few issues related to Spike, but I'm focusing on one for Celestia. And that is that she's a fucking idiot. Hear me out. She never once tells Twilight that she believes her, or even told her where the Elements were in the show. Now, I know some would say it was so Twilight would discover the magic of friendship. But here's my rebuttal to that: WHY THE HELL DIDN'T SHE DO THAT WHILE TWILIGHT LIVED IN FUCKING CANTERLOT, AND ACTUALLY DO IT A FEW YEARS PRIOR TO THE LAST FUCKING MINUTE. Another is that she always assumes a peaceful soluiton is the way out. Exhibit A? Nightmare. She thought that by just talking to Luna, who was in rage mode at her sister ignoring her (another point I'll get to later), it would prevent the entire thing. :facehoof: Why is the princess ponies look up to such an idiot. Another is the season 2 finale, for multiple reasons. The first is that she didn't bother investigating Twilight's claims. I don't give a shit if "Cadence" was your niece, your star pupil, an Element of Harmony, and of the canonically most powerful one at that, made an accusation that she wasn't Cadence. Plus, if anypony knows Cadence, it's Twilight. Second is that you left said pupil crying in the altar room. You could have at least made sure she wasn't going to commit suicide, which she could have if this wasn't a kids show. The third would be the fact you didn't listen to Chrysalis. You heard her, yes, but you didn't acknowledge what she said, instead going straight to, "Oh, it's not my species and it's ugly, so it must be evil," mode.

(Pretend I'm the blue one, and the black is Celestia's stupidity)

Another example is season three premiere. She sent Twilight to the Crystal Empire. With out the Elements. Which we know can defeat Sombra. I would rather have a student who is greedy than have fear and hatred spreading across my kingdom. And, on another note for season three, let's talk Discord . . . .:ajbemused: Are you a moron. This is Discord. How do you know he wouldn't brainwash an Element so he could cause as much chaos as he wanted with out having to worry about you. Then there's the finale. Now, I like Twilicorn. What I don't get is that she basically raped Twilight's DNA and made her an alicorn. Did it ever occur to you, a princess who cares about Twilight's thoughts, that she didn't want to be a princess.

Now for four. More accurately, the finale. One: She only has Twilight come to the Crystal Empire to unfurl a banner. I get those were important delegates, but shouldn't Twilight have been involved with the meeting. I think you have more authority than those delegates when they're visiting, Celestia. Two: You send Discord, the god of chaos, to stop Tirek. What assurance did you have he wouldn't betray you. Third: Did you really have to put all of your magic in Twilight. Couldn't you have done that with a rock? Even if Tirek found this out, he'd still lose, as there are tons of rocks in Equestria.

Well, that's it. If you guys have another example of Celestia being stupid, comment, and if you agree, like this. If you have a rebuttal to any of my points, comment, and we can have a good, old fashioned debate.

I agree with you for a great deal of this bro. And if you recall, in our first collab, we even brought it up.

Yeah, and I addressed the Twilicorn thing, and the Nightmare moon angle in my fics.

3170837 true enough. I'm eager to work on that power rangers one we decided on...

Well I'm up for a debate then. ^^ Tell me what you think of my opinion here.

While I might tend to agree with some of the things, really the writers could be blamed for things also happening like they did. Plus Princess Celestia is still just a pony or an alicorn horse I assume due to her size different from a regular one given we see Troubleshoes. She's prone to mistakes, much like her sister.

1. Could she have seen the signs of Nightmare Moon happening, yes but ultimately due to having to deal with her duties as the co-ruler of her nation, dealing with the nobles assumingly and everything she didn't realize how bad the situation truly was getting till it was too late. Who do you think got the short end of the stick then exactly? Luna who was banished by the Elements of Harmony themselves instead of purifying her to prevent a magical Nuclear Winter in the form of Eternal Night, slowly killing everything or Celestia, her sister who not only had to rule alone for 1000 years but had to live with the guilt, pain and misery that her own vast misunderstanding of the situation costed her her own sister? The possible mental, and emotional trauma she had to endure with a happy face for her subjects while possibly secretly hating them for being directly responsible for Luna's jealousy and resentment, and ultimately leading to her becoming Nightmare Moon? Emphasis on possibly. Plus them maybe celebrating Nightmare Moon's imprisonment, being too stupid and ignorant to realize they were the direct cause of it by shunning the night. Not to mention we can assume she hoped the Elements would've fixed Luna's jealousy so they could talk things out after realizing they had a problem to work out. Banishment happened because the elements were meant to be used by 6 not 1. Friendship was the key. Honestly both of them were at fault for Nightmare Moon for obvious reasons.

2. Obviously the answer about the Elements is Twilight was meant to find them and plot reasons. Though it might be also given 1000 years having passed, Celestia may have forgotten exactly where she left the elements, probably due to the painful feelings and emotions the elements left on her that fateful day. She might act all brave and tough like the princess she should be but deep down she might have been hurting the worst and trying to hold back her emotions for her subjects. A bit stupid but understandable given the circumstances. Regardless either way you look at it, Twilight was meant to discover them with her new-found friends and bond with them becoming the new bearers like destiny might have foretold or something. Not to mention again being busy with all the duties of being a ruler, she never got a chance to do so. I mean did she even have an opportunity for a much needed vacation much less going to find the Elements?

3. I don't really have a rebuttal to that other than the writer's faults for making her stupid like that. Though Logically speaking, during a threat of attack she should've at least considered that, though most likely she like everypony else thought that Cadence was simply being all bridezilla due to her wedding needing to be perfect like any other bride to be wants. Plus with the fact the threat was unknown, it's logical to assume that no one expected changelings of all equines to be the attackers. Much less one was already inside the castle and has been for sometime. Despite obvious bad acting, one could assume Chrysalis did it on purpose to basically have everypony let their guards down, even Twilight who was suspicious. Basically turn the ones who MIGHT be the biggest threats to her plan against each other so nothing could go wrong which ironically for her still did. The threat might have been sent out because the wedding was being planned and couldn't be rescheduled cause Chrysalis as Cadence tricked everypony into continuing it instead of delaying it. And technically as bullcrap as the origins comic seems to be the changelings and Chrysalis might be truly evil as stupid as it is to make them all evil. Especially since if they need love they could've simply asked Celestia for help regardless of whatever reason they had that either prevented it or made it seem like a bad idea when it was the opposite in fact.

4. Sombra, well most likely while she wanted him stopped, perhaps she had hoped Twilight in addition to saving the empire, could've got through to Sombra and made him realize that what he was doing wasn't right. I mean because of his actions having accepted being an Umbra instead of making his own destiny other than what the Crystal Heart said he would be, he lost the mare he loved when she went to Celestia asking her to help Sombra see reason and rejected her then and there, banishing her from the Empire before sending it away, kinda killed Princess Amore by scattering her pieces all over the world, possible to revive her though if the shards are found, and pretty much screwing the empire and Equestria over as a final "buck you" to Celestia when she might've been able to make it so the Heart didn't hurt him. Plus we're not entirely sure if the Elements would've worked on him this time or if he was actually hoping they would be brought so he could corrupt them somehow. I mean Dark Magic user there.

5. Discord well technically he already filled out his sentence before he escaped. If anything legally she should've let him out anyway on parole and compromising with him from the get go. Most likely since he went crazy a bit with his chaos when he broke out it kinda ruled out any parole at the time till Celestia decided to give him a second chance. Plus his magic is helpful if reformed. I mean chaos and order are like brother and sister. You can't have harmony with one or the other, it requires both in a synergistic union to make harmony. Celestia probably realized that and made the decision to have him reformed, giving him his freedom if he used his chaos for good and selfless reasons instead of just pranks that could grow out of control. I mean I'm all for some chaos but there are limits to what you can do before it crosses a few lines and becomes too much of a good thing.

6. Princess Twilight Sparkle, well actually Celestia didn't have anything to really do with that one. It was all Twilight there. Watch the episode again and repeatedly watch the scene where Twilght ascends. That's not Celestia's magic at work, all she did was a song and reminding Twilight of her accomplisments. That's TWILIGHT'S magic at work, coming from her body as it transforms her into an alicorn, as was her destiny since before she was even BORN. If you recall, 1000 years ago when Celestia and Luna got the Elements from the Tree of Harmony, it had a Moon, Sun, and STAR symbol on it. Celestia, Luna and TWILIGHT SPARKLE's cutie marks, even before the 3 gained them. It's even mentioned in their diary recounting their adventures starting out as princesses. If anything Twilight becoming an alicorn princess was set in stone the moment the Tree of Harmony was created. So obviously some form of higher power is at work, maybe the universe itself? The catalyst that allowed her to ascend? Her accomplishments and completing the final spell of Starswhirl's which even he couldn't do because he didn't understand friendship like Twilight would come to learn.

7. She most likely didn't think he'd give up the one friend he ever had to help an obvious liar and backstabber for a false sense of freedom when Discord was already freed. Plus Discord didn't see the betrayal coming. Tirek was also a pretty good talker so he managed to trick Discord into becoming his "B" word much like the Fallen tricked Megatron in Revenge of the Fallen. Also not sure how hiding it in a rock would help. I mean would that even be possible? As far as we can tell magic has to go into a living object. Since Twilight is the most responsible and Tirek not yet knowing there was a 4th alicorn, it seemed like the best decision at the time. I mean he flat out raged that there was an unknown princess out there he had to get still.

1:True, but who was it who kept the truth hidden until it couldn't be kept?

2: I don't see that happening. Whenever you have a memory like that, you tend to remember it due to it having a large impact in your life. And even then, Celestia could have at least told her that the Elements were in the castle, last she remembered.

3:You must realize that ponies can be extremely xenophobic. Look at Zecora.

4: I doubt Sombra could have been turned. Even then it would have been safer to use the Elements on him.

5:True, but what I'm saying is that he could have brainwashed one of the Elements, or even Celestia, which would have removed an issue for him. Plus, did he really hurt any one during his reign? No, so Celestia and Luna were unjustified. Do you attack a wolf for killing a moose if said wolf is hungry? No. You may if it's yours, but that doesn't remove the fact that Discord was just doing what was in his nature.

6: My point here is that Twilight was forced to become a princess, and who's to say that. People who truly change the world are those who go against destiny, and no those who conform to it.

7:The point here is that Discord had only one real friend, and Tirek was using logical arguments. Only Fluttershy actually liked him, and some would say friendship is a prison because you can't become the best you can. As for the rocks. They never say that can't happen. If it couldn't, then explain the Elements of Harmony.

1. Who said Celestia actually hid the truth? Most of the ponies probably never actually heard that it was true and at some point Celestia had to have let some ponies know the truth, like say Cadence, Shining Armor and anyone who directly works for her at the castle. Any of the guards that reacted during the second EP were probably new recruits who haven't gotten the memo yet that Nightmare Moon is really Princess Luna. After all somehow it faded into an old mare's tale which is weird if you ask me.

2. Perhaps.

3. True and they are stupid for doing that however that seems to be ponies in general, at least in Ponyville, especially with the Flower Trio. Celestia however is a kindhearted ruler who I think was the bearer of kindness at one point in her life before crap hit the fan and lost her connection to the elements. Given her nature and the fact she's the ruler of Equestria, if Chrysalis had simply gone to her or Cadence for help they would've done all in their power to help Chrysalis. I mean Sombra's not even a pony himself and Celestia originally confronted him on behalf of his marefriend to help him see reason and that he doesn't have to become the evil villain the Crystal Heart said he would be, that he still had a choice in that destiny. Sadly for him he chose wrong there.

The point there being instead of attacking like a xenomorphic pony would out of a stupid fear, Celestia tried a peaceful approach first. If she can do that for a soon to be Non-Genocidal Hitler type villain, then why not for a foreign Dignitary or ruler such as Chrysalis? Chrysalis is the Queen of the Changelings, ruler of the Badlands and as such is as much a neighboring ruler of Equestria's as the Deer King of the Everfree Forest and the Rulers of Saddle Arabia are. Had she simply gone straight into Canterlot, undisguised, right up to the guards and requested an audience as a visiting ambassador of her kind to negotiate a peace treaty and to ask for help, they'd have to let her in or be charged with possible treason or something for almost starting a war with a foreign ruler regardless of whether she herself attacked 1000 years ago or not. Something you DON'T want on your permanent record or resume should you lose your job and somehow not get arrested doing so.

4. Perhaps but one never knows. I mean Discord was reformed as was Sunset Shimmer. It's plausible he might be able to. And even if he can't be, then at least they can have a smile on their face knowing they at least tried to help him fix his life up. I mean that counts for something right?

5. He could have sure, but in his words "Where's the fun in that?" If he had done so for Celestia, what then? Sure he wouldn't have anyone to stop his chaos but there is the problem. HE WOULDN'T HAVE ANYONE TO OPPOSE HIM as the Mane 6 would have to deal with Celestia getting in their way, not his. Things would be boring for him after awhile, even with his chaos. While unpredictable, it would eventually get repetitive, losing the fun in it and Discord is all about having fun. Having someone to challenge him, to oppose him, makes life for fun for him. After all what's the point of chaos if you don't have order to balance it out and keeping everything alive? I mean look at when he broke Twilight, he tried to get her to enjoy it but she was just broken. While he was happy he won, didn't for a moment he seem to have felt a bit bad about what he did to her or disappointed? Since she's not even enjoying the chaos like he's wanting them to?

Perhaps they were unjustified but when you think about it, he came to their kingdom, and started causing all sorts of chaos. While it's his job and important to the balance, from the way they were talking he might have been going too far with his chaos. He might not have hurt anyone but eventually he could've or worst. that might be why they got the elements to stop him. For if he refused to listen to reason and see things their way, see where they're coming from so to speak. You know, tone things down a bit so ponies aren't freaking out and the chaos doing anything that could say ruin nature around them? Negotiating and everything so that he can still cause chaos but without any actual problems arising from it. Maybe even negotiate creating his own kingdom somewhere where he can go all out with his chaos and no one could get hurt, you know compromise and all.

The elements might've been their last resort after awhile and this could've all actually happened before they retrieved them originally from the Tree of Harmony making it their only logical option left. Plus remember the Elements do whatever they want. Discord got stoned twice, Nightmare Moon, Banishment, then turned back to Luna then banished again after being forced off of Rarity maybe? Then banishing Tirek twice, with the 2nd time being Rainbow Power, a basic super form granted by the elements when they were restoring the Tree itself.

6. I don't think she was actually forced. I mean sure she wasn't told beforehand but neither was Cadence and both of them met a specific requirement to become a princess. I'm pretty sure they had the option of saying no thanks or waiting til later on but due to plot purposes of the show they turned her into one. If it was freshed out some more or a book was written with more detail on it, I'm pretty sure Celestia would be asking her if she wants to be a princess or not. It's her destiny but if she feels she's not yet ready for such a responsibity then it can wait til she feels she is READY. I mean the same could be said for Celestia and Luna. They originally weren't princesses. Alicorns yes but not princesses. The 3 unicorn leaders, their best friends long ago when they were young, and the rest of the tribes ASKED them to rule. And that eventually led to them earning their cuties marks raising the sun and moon. When they were first starting out day one Celestia literally wrote in their diary that she was nervous and was hoping to be the best princess she could be for everypony. Luna as well.

That's true but mainly to those who were destined to be evil but decided to fight against it because they don't want to be. The only one example so far I can think of where they accepted it instead of fighting against it like they should've was Sombra. He could've use his magic to help other, he would still have his mare with him but he threw it all away choosing to accept being an evil tyrant king when the option to be something better was still present. It's pretty sad actually. So much potential and it's wasted because he made the wrong decision in his life. Even Twilight felt bad for him after learning his story.

7. Indeed he was, that's why he was so dangerous cause he basically was playing mind games. He said all that and made Discord think Tirek was a true friend. And what did he do to Discord after that? Gave him the necklace, and lied about what it meant to him. Then backstabbed Discord and stole his magic while insulting his own brother who only did what he believed was right when he betrayed Tirek and probably what their own mother would've done if it meant stopping Tirek especially since then he was attacking Equestria which their own father was against doing. Friendship might seem like a prison but only if you allow it to be. Look at Twilight and her friends. She was just like Discord originally if you recall and gaining friends was the best thing that ever happened to her. She can't imagine life without them now. Why not Discord?

Then there's the fact he got jealous when Fluttershy made a new friend and didn't seem to get that you could have more than one friend. Seriously, even if they others don't like him as much as Fluttershy does, he could at least try to befriend them better so they do. Understand their interests and all and maybe so a bit of an interest in them. That's how friendships are made after all. Seeing how he's all about chaos magic, he could befriend Twilight, they could study chaos magic together, why it does what it does, how it does it and ultimately understanding Pinkie Pie's Pinkie Sense. That is obviously a form of chaos magic there. It's the only way to logically explain it. Applejack he could make new kinds of apple for her to sale and grow. Rarity, his own dress and clothing line or designs that any kind of pony or species could want. Even the most bizzare costumer. Rainbow Dash, a race simple as that and competition.

Simple the stones that were originally the elements were magic ones that literally came from the TREE OF HARMONY. They were extremely special items, much like say the World Rings, Sol Emeralds, Chaos Emeralds, Crystal Stars, ect. Obviously they have to have something different going for them than regular rocks. Not to mention they were GEMSTONES so they would have magical properties, especially if they came from something that may or may not be like a World Tree/Yggdrasil, Tree of Life, ect. kind of deal. Seeing how the plundervines killing it was a very bad thing to imagine if they weren't stopped.
