"Slice of Life" Review [Spoilers] · 5:06pm Jun 15th, 2015
If I recall correctly from a previous blog post, I said I wasn't going to like this episode for the reason of MLP has sucky fanservice. But contrary to that, I actually loved this episode. It may be my second favorite of all time. Well aside from Derpy Hooves (or should I call her Muffins now) being the main focus in it...
So first thing to cover is that Cranky and Matilda got married. I like when My Little Pony has continuity, and I'm happy to see that we have a third married couple on the show now. I loved how Cranky was all scared and nervous about getting married, like a normal marriage would be. I'm so happy about this because as SilverQuill said before, the Cadence and Shining Armor was more of a fairy tail type of marriage, whereas Mr. and Mrs. Cake and Cranky Doodle and Matilda have a more realistic relationship.
And about that Derpy thing earlier... her name isn't Derpy anymore.

I suppose Hasbro felt the need to change her yet again and make her name Muffins. Oh well. As long as she got to talk, I'm okay with it.
And Doctor Whooves! Oh yes, Doctor Whooves. I am so happy he got to talk and interact with both Muffins and Rose, more specifically Rose. And the cherry on top of that was that he was both British and time traveled. Fantastic. Amazing. I applaud you Hasbro.
We have two lesbians people! Two confirmed lesbians!
"All those benches we sat on. Doesn't that mean anything?"
Just. Yes.
I love how they brought in both the name "Bon Bon" and "Sweetie Drops." I so happy I could go squeeze my Bon Bon plush that I may or may not have.
Besides all the fantastic fanservice, this episode's moral was great. Side characters can be important, too. Did you hear that Robin? Though, when Mayor Mare said it at the wedding reception, it didn't really make any sense. It was more of a wink wink, nudge nudge to the audience.
Well, I suppose if I continue to ramble on about this episode's greatness, my whole workspace will be filled up. I'm sorry I ever doubted you, 100th episode.
