I made my first fan video, may need opinions · 8:46pm Jun 14th, 2015

Nothing too complex, just a Before Watchmen's reading order.

Can you guys give me some feedback?

Not too shabby. Smooth transitions, good pacing. The music's not too grating and fairly thematic, although the change of song should be matched with a change in ambiance in the pictures rather than just go on with the same mood.

I didn't really pick up on any message being conveyed (other than the deconstruction concept inherent in Watchmen to begin with), so I'm assuming this was mainly an experiment to test out your video-making skills. And it looks good. As far as I can tell, you certainly seem to know what you're doing. Keep it up! :yay:

Well, it was mostly because it was an "On Line Narrative" task from the U. The teacher told us to make a quick "4-5 minutes" and give it some context. Nothing too important, but since this is my first video ever, I decided to share it and take the opportunity to get some tips on how to make videos.

And no, there's no bigger message beyond shouting "Watchmen is a deconstruction!" in your face.

Thanks for the feedback, mate.

Pretty cool! I wish I had the courage to put a video on the Internet...

Glad you liked it.

And it's not that different from posting a blog r a story, so you already have that courage, trust me, I believe in you.

Never been a big fan of Watchmen but this video is nice, you found a nice song to start (thanks Skillet)
may be more a reference to the Minutemen series
then everything breaks with Linkin park, showing us the real Madness (Rorschach ?)

Yeah, that's kinda the effect I was going for. Start with the shinny past that is Minutement with a song about standing up as a hero, ending it with Manhattan (the superhero) and Rorschach (the BADASS! normal). Then, Ozymandias enters in the series' turning point that was Moloch #2, bringing the darkness an a song about a pointless end while The Comedian shows the worst of Vietnam, Minutement ends, Ozymandias changes the heroics for the business, Dollar Bill dies, Manhattan and Rorschach finally lose it, and it all ends with Ozy getting his plan in motion. The last words before the volume fading are "in the end, it doesn't even mater", reflecting the end of "Before" and the beginning of the end that is the actual story.
