How could I not talk about this episode? This was the kind of fan service we've long awaited, and DHX did more than deliver! Hang on, I gotta put a list down here of everypony we got featured in this episode, just so I know I can talk about all of them.

Did I get them all? I can't keep track. Of course, the only ones I counted are the ones without (meaningful) speaking roles elsewhere in the show. Well, let's take it from the top, I suppose!
Derpy
Admit it. You squeed when she pulled out the muffin basket. I squeed when she pulled out the muffin basket. Plus she's still a delivery pony, and goddamn is she adorable. I love every one of her confused and zany lines. She's playing around in Dr. Whooves' lab by touching an electric ball and riding in a dangling rocket ship. IT'S JUST SO CUTE! I also didn't expect her to pull out that Pinkie-level of resourcefulness and think to use the fireworks as flowers. Very nice development there, for a character that will never get use of it again.
Oh yeah, and I saw that extra long hug with Dr. Whooves, you rascal. SHIP IT LIKE FEDEX!
Lyra+Bonbon
This was, an interesting take on these two. Love the bench callback. Which reminds me: I forgot to check who wrote this episode! Goddamn it now I can't give props to whoever it was. Whatever, when in doubt, Meghan McCarthy. Back on track now. Secret Agent Bonbon. I'm not sure what to think of this. I think it's freaking hilarious, but it's just such a big surprise to me. I don't read enough stories involving the background ponies, sadly, so I wouldn't know where this came from. I know, i know, I've already crucified myself for it. I'm using my toes to type right now. Nonetheless, it was fun to see. Lyra was funny too, and she still sits like a human, but they left out one crucial detail. WHY DIDN'T SHE SAY ANYTHING ABOUT HANDS!? That's like, the number one thing to include!
Vinyl+Octavia
Alright, here's what I came for. I've always loved these two. Nowacking turns everything with Vinyl in it into gold and Octavia's an adorable, classical badass who plays the third best instrument in existence. While they couldn't get the same awesomeness that the fandom brings to Vinyl (or a bass cannon), she was still alright. Not really much there that I could like, given that they've taken out my favorite things about her. Plus, I am not a dubstep fan in the slightest, so no points from me there. I was very fond of their musical teamwork...at first. I saw Octavia's lack of interest in Vinyl's music, showing off a rivalry between the two, but then they find a blend that compliments both of their talents. And then, Vinyl takes over completely and I can't hear the cello at all. What was an even bigger buzzkill was that Octi was banging her head to it. I'll have you know, DHX, that I am experienced rock/metal fan, and only that music is acceptable for head banging. Dubstep only has it's place in fighting themes and burning marijuana fields.

The only thing horrible about their appearance was that it was so short. The flower stem gag had me in stitches. What didn't have me in stitches in this episode!?

Now I understand. All this time with our limited exposure to the alligator had us believing that he was nothing more than a mindless creature. But now we understand. What lies behind that mask of an nonfunctional reptilian being was really the key to unlocking the mysteries of the universe. Gummy is the Questioner: a holy prophet here to show us through the complexities of life itself, needing only a key to unlock the doorway into the inner sanctum of his mind. One who's mind travels into oblivion to bring back the otherworldly knowledge and reasoning that we as a common people would view as insanity. And that is why she is chosen.
Dr. Whooves
This one got more attention than I had anticipated. He has his own laboratory with a number of very scientific objects for Equestria that are basic to us. The electric orb, a little rocket ship there only to make Derpy adorable. Lots of stuff I'd like to see more of. Then he went bowling with the Big Letrotski Ponies, and dat analysis doh. The dude looks at pins set up at the end of the alley and knows all of the possibilities and angles for which to create them. However, there's something I think he neglected to say in this episode. Writers, why didn't he saw "Great Scott" when his fireworks went off? You..you should know this, I EXPECTED MORE!
Lotus
Again, could have seen more of her. She's just a set up for the star of the episode. She's got a cute voice too, i guess.
A changeling
Buck yeah, this is awesome. I shall name him Chuck: the friendly changeling. He will receive daily snuggles once the Equestrian portal is complete.

Why is it that one of the characters I wanted to see talk most gets no lines? I need him to give Sweetie Belle a hug damn it! You bastards already took Jan Animations from us, you better do damn good work with his creation!

Can't use alcoholism in this show, so that mean's there's one thing missing.
Big Letrotski Ponies
They were totally awesome, man! They got sick clothes, man, they got bowling skills like nobody else. Man, if I could just see these guys in real life I'd give them the biggest hoof bump, man.

Steven Motherbucking Magnet
Fabulosity has never been this great. I've seen so many fabulous people in my life, but there has only been ONE Steven Magnet. Only this serpent is fabulous enough to go chilling in the spa tub and not get his lustrous hair out of it's magnificent shape. I don't know what more I can say about him, half because I'm burnt out and the title is now a lie, but I just can't stress enough how much I love this episode. I give it 42 nerdgasms out of 10.
Somehow, I completely missed this blog post. But yeah, great episode. Tons of fun. Gummy is just the second best thing ever.
