Problems With my Stories... · 2:33am Jun 9th, 2015
As many of you who read this probably know, I write a lot of stories. 24 are out, and obviously more that I have no clue where I want it to go.
But as I was thinking lately, I realized that I just create a bunch of stories because I like the beginning idea for it. I created "A New Stallion" to make my own adventure about the Doctor in Equestria. I created "My Life, Recreated" because I wanted to put my experiences in a story. The same thing goes for "The Shadow Stallion", where I wanted to see how I'd make a pony who couldn't exist in sunlight.
But all in all, I'm just thinking of how I want these stories to start out. I can't come up with any new ideas in "The Shadow Stallion" because I never thought all the way through it. And yet, I created "Memories Forgotten" as a sort of sequel without completing the first story, or any of the others for that matter.
The same thing goes for "A New Stallion" and "My Life, Recreated" too. In "A New Stallion", I came up with the beginning Dalek scene and made it in a matter of days. But after that, I had no idea what I wanted to do with the story. In "My Life, Recreated", I put myself as my own OC and expected the worst. I made a scenario that I'm making bigger and bigger through other stories, and I can't put it all down.
So, all in all, I've noticed that whatever I create, I never seem to be able to finish. I was able to complete "Two and a half years..." because I already knew what I wanted planned for it. I wanted Twilight to get stuck in the other world and have to find another way back, adding a little other stuff like love or whatever. But with everything else I have made, it's almost non-existent for any ending.
All one-shots aside, my stories face another problem. It's not the lack of ideas or whatever because I can easily come up with more. It's more of a single question I bet all writers face.
"How will I make this work out?"
I ask myself this with most of my stories, and I never come up with a real solution. Half the time, I either write the story, publish it and then leave it for granted regardless of ratings. The other half of the time, I can't come up with what I want to write and never get the story out.
A third problem I face is the journey my stories are going to take. I sometimes come up with a beginning and an end, but hardly any middle. I can occasionally come up with some plot points to go over in the story, but I never know what I want to do for my characters to make it to that. They might walk.. fly, teleport or anything like that, but its also about interaction with the environment, talking amongst themselves, and anything else that might need to be involved.
All of that aside, I don't know what I want to do for my stories. I don't know how to continue them, how to create any more interactions, or anything. I'm completely lost on what to do.
I have been doing some things to help with other stuff, like other's stories. And one thing I found that helps is another person's opinion on what to do next. So, that's what I want to do here.
For anyone that reads my stories, what is your idea on what you want to happen in them? It can be about any story that's mine, if you want too include yourself in this. I believe that with someone's help or ideas in the story, I could possibly get back to writing them faster.
So, if none of you mind, please post your ideas for whatever story of mine that you've read in what you think will happen. You can also do this in the comment of the story, whatever works for you. I just need a little inspiration in order to continue.
