Has anyone else ever seen this show? Its old... like, really old. But I was a really, really cool show!
The show features 3-4 main characters in the show, but I do now know the actual actors.
So the show follows "Jared", the pretender. He was taken from his family and placed into the "Centre". He lived and grew up under the protection of a man named "Sydney", who helped Jared grow up as a super genius, able to solve anything and going through situations that helped train him the way he is.
When Jared ran away, his only goal is to find his family. He escaped to find his parents, whom he had grown up his entire life without. He never had a real childhood.
That brings up some interesting perks for the show. In each episode of the series, Jared always has another job at a new place. And a new last name, seeing as how he never knew his. And throughout the episodes, there's almost always a reoccurring feature. One of those is Pez, which is like Jared's one and only true candy. Another feature is experiencing that stuff that a child might experience, or having another child explain something to him that he himself does not truly understand.
It makes it really, really interesting in my opinion to see what it would be life if someone who grew up without life had now suddenly been put right back in it. It brings up these things and it shows how Jared truly reacts to it. Its just, really amazing to see.
Throughout the show, Jared is looking for his parents, but always manages to solve other crimes that he comes across in newspaper articles. In every episode like that, it shows Jared solving things that normal people would not solve. Murders that are disguised as accidents, and many other things that you see in other cop shows.
But what I can almost GAURENTEE that you never see in those cop shows or whatever is the main character JOINING the organization that caused the crime and solving it on the inside. He finds clues that most people would not find at all.
And another thing to say, is that when Jared does find the one responsible, he doesn't just present the evidence and turn it in. Nope. He goes TO the one who committed the crime and puts them in the EXACT same situation that they caused someone else.
For example, if someone died in a "Bungee Accident", Jared goes to the one who caused the accident and leaves them hanging by a bridge with rocks at the bottom, the bungee cord nearly torn and broken. He goes on and eventually gets the man to confess for their life.
But Jared ALSO makes it weirdly epic in another way. Instead of sparing their lives after hearing the evidence, he makes them literally FEEL on the verge of death. He made the man at the bridge nearly fall to his death on the beat up bungee cord!
Its just... so amazing of a show, in my opinion. It talks about different life situations, his past moments, true terror for the villains on the verge of death... Just, really amazing!
Sadly, the show was cancelled mid fifth season, so there was never any true end for the show. But I still really enjoyed it nonetheless, and if you haven't seen it, I'd suggest that you try to find it somewhere. It might not be to your liking, but I did enjoy it.
