ERMAHGERD, DERK KNAIGHT RAISES, ERMAHGERD. · 6:12am Jul 21st, 2012

I just had to blog about this. This was probably the best movie I've seen all year (with the possible exception of The Avengers), and I can't wait to go back and see it again. It's actually quite depressing to know that Mr. Nolan isn't going to be doing anything else Batman related, especially after the ending of DKR.

And now, a short review:

The Dark Knight Rises is exactly what my summer needed: an adrenaline-pumping, pants-peeing finale to what will most likely be remembered as the best Batman film series since his first incarnation (Adam West). The visuals: amazing (loved the freakin' Bat-Wing). Batman: just as bad-ass as ever (if not more by the end of it). Bane: freakin' intimidating (but he just couldn't beat the Joker). Catwoman: awesome (Anne Hathaway FTW). Everything else: all fantastic pieces in one hell of a finale (thank you, Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Morgan Freeman).

The flaws, though few, stood out just enough to catch my attention. There really were only two, though:

1) Not enough Batman. The movie is mostly Bruce Wayne and, though he is quite handsome (and understandable without that mask on), I really was looking forward to seeing more of our favorite Caped Crusader. That being said, it's not a very big flaw. Number 2, however, is much more noticeable. Be warned: I may accidentally spoil some things with this part, so if you haven't seen the movie yet, well, I warned you...

2) Bane. I loved him, really I did, and I wish I could have seen more of him. That is the flaw here. At the end of the film, a twist is played out with Bane that ends up with him simply being pushed aside, and you don't see him for the rest of the film. Admittedly, it's probably only the last 10-15 minutes of the move, but I still think that Nolan just pushed him aside when he still had plenty of potential left in him. I'm not going to say anything more about it, because I'm worried I may have already spoiled something with what little I wrote, but, in the words of Gorilla Munch, what they did with Bane at the end really rustled my jimmies.

All in all, the movie is fantastic. There's no doubt that this trilogy will go down in history as some of the most memorable superhero films ever made. God forbid, we'll get to see someone else try it in ten or twelve years, but I'm certain we'll always remember Batman as our Dark Knight.

Final rating: 10/10

Oh yeah, and if you see the movie in IMAX, you get a sneak peak at the next Bond film, Skyfall. It's got flying trains, you should check it out.

Whew, did I just write all that? Expecting people to read it? Or pay any attention to it? God, this place has made me crazy! Well, besides my word, post yours! Go ahead, I wanna hear some opinions! Those are always fun to look at. Feel free to write your own comment about Batman, Chris Nolan, or anything else here. Well, that's all, folks!

P.S. Oh yeah, and I'm still working on some stories. I'm hoping to find some pre-readers and advisers for them (hint hint help me hint).

Okay, now I'm really done.

Definitely needed more bane and batman, but you've got to admit that the acting that was put into Alfred around the end was fantastic all in all I agree with your 10/10
