Well we've made it to the second of breaks with new episodes, which sucks because Season 5 has been PHENOMENAL so far! To help kill some time, other than read my favorite story again, I figured I'd give a quick update with what's going on right now in terms of new stories.
A few weeks ago, I premiered a new story that goes with my Taismo (Tails and Cosmo) universe, a retelling of the Season 4 episode "Equestria Games." I just want to say that I really appreciated the positive feedback I've received so far and that you enjoy what's currently available to read. If you noticed my author's notes after the second chapter, you may recall me saying that updates to that story are not predictable, and that I will post new chapters when I see fit. This is because I'm still actually writing out the story, having the ideas to work with but have not yet put them into words, and thus I don't want to post too much before hitting a halt for who knows how many weeks.
And when it comes to writing, as I said in my previous blog post, I am working on multiple stories at once with the intention to try and premiere a new multi-chapter series towards the end of summer. This other story will be much longer, more original kind of story that will also be another multiple crossover, with one of the crossovers being the inspired theme for said story. Working on both of these simultaneously does eat up more of my time than just one story would, but I'm hoping that the end results will make up for lack of updates when each one get their respective posts. However, I should say that right now, my job will be transitioning into summer hours in the coming days, which means working in new locations and longer hours every day, so unfortunately that means writing time will become more limited to evenings and weekends (when I don't always already made plans).
And, of course, I must mention how happy I am with the final update to my first big story that introduces my interests in MLP and everything beyond, Taismo: Discovering Equestria. The final chapter, being part of what the Mane 6 experienced in Chapter 5, was an especially challenging attempt of writing on my part because of how I wanted to separate the ponies from the setting they were in. It wasn't until I had a Sonic X marathon on the series finale's 9th anniversary when I finally got the idea I needed to put the chapter together, and I worked nonstop on it to make it come out the way you see it now. It was without a doubt one of my hardest things to write and for many reasons, so for anyone who gave it a read, I really do appreciate you giving it that look.
But, I do like to share a little surprise with you all. However, it does come with a backstory.
When I first began to become a fan of MLP, the show inspired me to make new stories that you've seen posted in the last year. After I watched Pinkie Pride, I was tempted to give it a small addition with my own story, Rainbow's Rockin' Birth-iversary Concert. Season 5 has been no different, and after watching Make New Friends But Keep Discord over a week ago, my mind sparked a new little addition to make to that story, much like what Pinkie Pride did. I plan to make a quick new story to add along with my Taismo and Team JAG Band series, just something small and nice with a musical tribute to one of my favorite bands, and according to my headcanon, one of a certain Princess's favorites as well. I have the idea of what to do, and I hope to get to work on that in the next few days.
Other than that, there isn't much more I can say. Season 5 has been going strong, the fandom is rejoicing in all my favorite ways, I'm compiling new story ideas on top of what I'm currently working on, and I'm proud to have finally completed Taismo: Discovering Equestria after getting some much needed inspiration. Outside of MLP, life has been good but busy, keeping focused on my job and activities such as concerts and get-togethers with friends and family, and putting my new truck to good use with summertime preparations.
Oh, and how can I forget the fact that I've been keeping a close eye on Pen Stroke's newest story, The Road Home, and have been loving it all so far! He's really doing a great job with it, so if you haven't checked it out, go give it a read! (But read Past Sins and all other affiliated stories first, or I guarantee you'll feel lost from the start).
