Something you may have noticed about my recent stories · 2:31pm May 14th, 2015
To my fellow readers and followers,
You may have noticed a little something about my recent stories like "Window Repairs," "Unwanted Guests," and "You Gave Me Nothing." That is because if you remember back, I wrote a fanfic called "The Equestria Healing Process," last year and it received a mixed bag of reviews. While some people thought it was good, others thought it was bad, particularly when I presented it at Everfree Northwest last year. What followed was a jumbled mess as I tried to edit and edit it in an effort to please both sides.
However, one lesson I learned in becoming a disciplined writer is that people will love and hate your work. On the flip side however, "Equestria Healing Process," is a fanfic that I am not personally proud of. A lot of the content in the story was content that would never be seen in the MLP universe. What I did was I extracted that made the fanfic likeable and took what I extracted and placed them into the stories you see before you. However, while it is highly unlikely I will ever put it back on fimfiction.net, I will leave it on fanfiction.net because rather than just sweeping it under the rug, its better to leave it up so people would never forget where these particular ideas came from.
The first example would be that in one of the opening chapters of "Equestria Healing Process," Discord attempted to restore the stained glass windows that he and Tirek defaced before writing a note telling the princesses that he was going to turn himself back to stone. What I did was take that scene and rework it into a fanfic staring Discord and Celestia, removing the whole "rid himself of Equestria," scenario since I will admit as a writer that the whole concept was confusing to begin with. So, I took this idea and turned it into "Window Repairs."
The second example was from the chapter "Tirek's trial," which was nothing more than a kangaroo court that seemed out of place. To make it more appropriate, I moved the scene to Tartarus and removed the trial aspect, reducing it down to a mere visit from the Princesses who offer Tirek a chance to learn the magic of friendship. This became "Unwanted Guests."
The third and final example is from the chapter "Confrontation with Tirek," where Discord releases his frustration on Tirek before being dragged back to Canterlot to face trial. In "You Gave Me Nothing," it would seem like Discord would do serious harm to Tirek, but realizes that it is not worth it and leaves him alone. I'm not going to spoil anything else since I still have one or two chapters to do on this story. But, I will tell you that Discord and Fluttershy will share a tender scene when Discord returns from Tartarus.
Now, I will have one more idea extracted from "Equestria Healing Process," that will deal with Shining Armor expressing his dislike to Discord. That is going to become a fanfic I will write after "Nothing," called "Back off, traitor." We all know how protective Shining Armor is of his loved ones, but here, he will give Discord a new one.

As a matter of fact, I think Discord started to doubt what he was doing when he sensed the princesses transferring their magic into Twilight. Although I could be wrong.
