sopchoppy's A Friend In Need: Luna's Armor · 4:36am May 14th, 2015
I am the beta-reader for sopchoppy's story A Friend In Need, a crossover with the webserial Worm. As part of the back-and-forth of the beta-reading and editing process, I have generated a certain amount of supplementary material to expand and clarify some aspects of the story and its setting. First up, Princess Luna makes a dramatic entrance in the "Requiem for a Dream" section of this story and dons mystical armor for a great battle. Below are two images that sopchoppy agrees represent aspects of the armor and jointly should help the reader form a mental image of it.
First up, the overall design of this armor is something like this:
Particularly in the full coverage it provides and the blades on the wings. Note that the black protrusions from her raised hoof are intended to be a set of retractable blades built into the "boot" which are not part of the armor in the story. The armor in the story does, however, feature sharp edges on the exterior of the hoof-guards.
The second image captures much of the intended gothic-grotesque "feel" of the armor in the detail work adorning it. This is key in establishing a nickname given to Luna later in the story.
Again, that's the coverage of the first with the style-work of the second.
Credit to 1110soulite and Ziom05 for the images.
Pictures do not seem to load for me at least.
3452730 They're up for me. I don't know what to say.
3453294 Now they load, too. Must have been some temporary hiccup...
