    Zootopia Thoughts

I saw this movie a little while back, and as Azrael posted his thoughts on it, I though that I might tell you a little bit about what I think about this movie.

    Gaunlet of Fire: Thoughts

This episode was absolutely terrific. I literally went into super fan boy mode when I saw this episode. I just couldn't actually believe what I was seeing. This is what My Little Pony should have been, not what it is. But yet due to some miracle, in MODERN MLP, we had an episode which had fantastic world building (although world is still wrecked,) fantastic new characters, an episode which

MLP Retrospective: Why Has The Show Gone Downhill?

If your familiar with my blogs you know that I am not particularly favorable with McCarthy's direction with the show. I've done a blog post in which I covered who was to blame for MLP's drop in quality, in which I ultimately decided it was McCarthy. However, one thing I feel I have not done in enough detail, is explain exactly why the show is worse off now than it was back when it began. This

    Season 5: Overview

Recently I actually went and watched every episode of season 5. I feel that as I did a half way overview, not to do an overview of the entire season would be weird. You probably already know my opinion of season 5, but there are a few noteworthy episodes I have recently seen after watching all of them. I will be doing tiny little reviews for all of the episodes I didn't review, just basically

Bloom and Gloom & Tanks For The Memories: Thoughts · 8:20am Apr 26th, 2015

Okay, so I guess I've got some explaining to do. I've been inactive for over a week.

Truth is, I'd lost interest in the show for a little while. I had loved The Cutie Map, and really wanted more of stuff like it. So I said to myself, you know what, maybe this isn't the show for me. I mean, this show only has 1 or 2 big episodes and the rest are just small conflicts, so why not just watch a different show, where it has big, meaningful conflicts all the time. Also, 2 bad MLP episodes in a row didn't exactly help me be a fan.

And for the past couple of weeks, that's exactly what I did, but after watching Tanks For The Memories, I actually think I might have got that interest in MLP back. Don't get me wrong, It's not my favorite show of all time, and I don't know if I would even still call myself a brony.

I'm going to be doing quick reviews from now on. I would rather devote my time to putting out interesting analysis on this blog then to constantly review episodes. You'll still get my thoughts on them, but they'll be rather brief. As you know from the title I've split this blog into reviewing both Bloom and Gloom and Tanks For The Memories.

So without further ado, let's get started.

Bloom and Gloom: This episode suffered from the same overall problem that Castle Sweet Castle had. The moral was absolutely fantastic, however, the road getting there was too all over the place. I'm not quite sure which one is worse. Castle Sweet Castle was better on a pacing perspective; although the journey for the mane 5 was questionable, and it had a lot of bad comedy.

Bloom and Gloom on the other hand had awful pacing, with repetitive and familiar dreams, and just overall felt really dumb and random. However, the execution of Apple Bloom learning the lesson was much better executed. Don't get me wrong, the lesson that you shouldn't be afraid of getting your cutie mark because that is "who you are" and people you love will always accept you for being yourself is a very strong one. But the repetitive storytelling and ridiculousness of the pacing killed it for me.

Tanks For The Memories: I loved this episode. It was a return to the style of the Faust era which was much needed after the last 2 episodes, and it reminded me why I loved this show in the past. Sure, I would agree that Rainbow was a little flanderized, and it is by no means one of the best episodes of the show. However, it reminded me of the earlier seasons a little like Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3 did, and that's a great thing

The absolute best thing about this episode is the comedy. I found myself laughing so much during this episode. From the scene with Spike, to the joke about the two ponies named Open Skies and Clear Skies, or whatever. This episode was really funny. I also enjoyed seeing Rainbow move on from her worry and realize that Tank hibernating was what needed to happen, and that she got through it through the help of her friends.

That's about it for this episode. It was funny and charming, and that helped me get past the episode's flaws. As well as it reminding me of the golden Faust era.

Funny, Dark Qiviut actually loved Bloom and Gloom and hates Tanks for the memories.

Yeah, I know. He'll have his reasons know doubt though. He's the most logical minded reviewer in the fandom, one of the few who hasn't been brainwashed by EQG to this point. I hope that EQG 3 is so horrible that everyone will come crashing back into reality, just like you said.

3021766 One of the points that ruins the episode for him is the fact that is the first winter that Dash and Tank pass together despite the fact that Tank became Dash pet in season 2. 3 seasons ago!
For EQG, my worst fear is not that is gonna be awful. No, my worst fear is that is gonna be better than EQG 2. And even if my hopes will become reality i still doubt that this fandom has chance to come to their senses.
