Twilight tossed and turned on her bed, before eventually falling off the side. ”What is the matter with me?” she mused, without moving. She did her best to just find a comfortable spot on the floor, but to no avail. For some reason her stomach kept rumbling from time to time and she had been thirsty all day. No matter how much she drank, it simply wouldn’t go away. Now, that empty feeling was preventing her from sleeping.
She got up and staggered towards her mirror. The purple unicorn’s normally bright eyes were pale and had dark spots under them. She looked as though she hadn’t slept in ages. Her stomach rumbled again. So thirsty…
Thu-thump, thu-thump, thu-thump…
The ears twitched upon hearing the quiet, steady noise. At first she thought it was her own heart beat, but the rhythm just didn’t seem to match up. Twilight turned around and spotted its source; the small, green and purple dragon.
Thu-thump, thu-thump, thu-thump…
She slowly inched towards the sleeping figure. Before long, she was standing over him, just listening to that hypnotic, beautiful sounding heart beat.
Thu-thump, thu-thump, thu-thump…
“Oh Rarity… of course I’ll marry you,” he mumbled, completely oblivious to the strange behavior of his friend.
Thu-thump, thu-thump, thu-thump…
He was truly her number one assistant. Always there by her side. Always ready to help, even if he did sometimes complain about it. He even puts up with her eccentric behavior and meltdowns. Surely he would be happy to help her with her thirst. Right?
She opened her mouth wide, as she leaned down. Gone were typically flat teeth that a pony should have. They were now closer to a canine’s set. Two teeth near the front were longer than the rest, and much, much sharper.
Gently, but firmly, she took hold of the little dragon’s neck…
((This is a scene I just wrote up some some friends of mine were requesting a vampire story. I'll eventually come back to this and make it into a whole story at some point, but not until I finish Blue Acres and at least start Windows and Breaking the Time Barrier.))
