How did you discover My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? When did you realize you were a fan of the show?

I remember this fondly. I was sitting on the computer and my step-dad said the title of an article. Something like "kids television show gets male cult following." I Laughed my ass off at how immature they all must be and looked it up to laugh more. I read the article and found it hilarious, keeping to the thought train that they, not I, was pathetic. two days later, I was surfing on demand for something to watch (there was nothing) and the Equestrian Girls commercial played. I figured, why the hell not and found my way to the hub. I watched the episode Cutie Mark Chronicles. The moment I realized I was a fan when I went to a hot topic and saw a brony shirt and thought "I have to have it." I guess then it was the conversion of my friends that truly moved me into the true fan status.

Do you have a favorite episode?

I love the Cutie Mark Crusaders (I identify a lot with their search for a talent, my same quest at this moment) so I would have to say the Cutie Mark Chronicles. I have re-watched the episode at least 40 times.

Who is your favorite character based purely on the canon of the show itself? Would your answer change if you considered the fandom in its entirety (i.e. art, fanfiction, memes, etc)?

Canon: Fluttershy. Fluttershy is so cute, I can't help but love her. Her kindness is admirable. She overcomes her fears to stand up for her friends and doesn't have to think about it. She knows what's right and what's wrong without thinking.

Fanon: Luna. The fan-base I think (when they aren't joking about it) make her softer and more sensitive, which I like better than strong and fierce. I understand her pain, her jealousy, her loneliness. Also, I'm a bit more of a nighthawk

How did you come up with your handle/penname?

I... I have no clue. Well I guess it was when... No, that was a different name. I guess I like the F-8 fighter jet, noticed it sounded like Fate and said "Why not?"

Have you written in other capacities (other fandoms, professionally, etc)? When did you first start writing?

I wrote for stuff like school and did amazing, or so my teachers say, but nothing too serious. I was going through a tough time when I wrote my first poem for fun and I knew that I would do it for as long as I could, though it took me a while to transfer it to ponies. After I began to read fanfics, I expiremented with different writing styles and activities and knew that I wanted to do this.

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

Well, I have a very exciting life. I read, listen to music, watch tv and play video games. I play a max of 50 hours a week of video games, playing just about all the games I have

Who is your favorite author (published or fanfiction)? Do you have a favorite story or novel?

Well fuck. I must say Robert Heinlein is a favorite of mine, though I never read his stranger in a strange land. He weilds creativity as a sword, cutting perfect stories from stone. I know it doesn't work that way, but fugettaboudit

Fanfic writer ? Cerulean1313. I recently ran into him/her/it and his/her/its stories have consistant good quality, creativity and he/she/it obviously puts a lot of effort into the stories.

But a favorite story? I don't care if its new. I don't care if its just started. The Discorded Era. Its well done from what I can tell and he presents it with creativity.

Stephen King believes that every author has an "ideal reader" - the one person who they write for, the one person whose reactions they care about. Do you have one, and if so, who is it?

I only used to care about Kickass222urmom's oppinion, but then I grew up. I realized that if I wrote for other people, I will never truly enjoy what I do. Due to this revelation, my quality has improved. I guess I care about Morgie93's, Winter Storm's and Zombie's opinion?

Do you have any tips for aspiring writers, or writers who are struggling with their own stories?

Well lets see. I'm struggling myself, but I will keep it with what has helped me hang on. No amount of pain should ever stop you from doing what you love, for there is no greater pain than losing that.
Also, this is something I'm working on. Don't use commas too much. Don't use too little. I guess what I mean to say is just learn how to use commas well. You obviously have access to a computer, so look it up. Check out a book from the library about grammar. Anything, just use them wisely.

What is your typical writing process? (Do you work through multiple drafts, do you have any prereaders/editors, etc?)

I slowly write a chapter in a notebook, I delay typing it up, I type it up, changing 90% of it as I do, I send it to my editor for The Equestrian Godfather: Morgie93, I get it back. I put the chapter into fimfiction, I delay submitting it for a week, I reread it a few times to see if there is anything I need changed, I submit.

What inspired you to write Green Ember?

I wrote an atrocious fic called Negative DONT READ IT and I got quite a bit of hate for it. So, I had a need to prove those posters wrong. I proposed the idea to Winter Storm along with the first chapter. With a reassuring smile (I think) he told me to go for it.

Did you run into any tough spots or challenges when writing Green Ember?

Well, I'm stuck halfway through. Also, the morning Diamond Dasher came to Ember's was insanely hard for me. I have no clue why, but I will never find that scene acceptable.

When you set out to write Green Ember, did you have any specific messages or themes in mind?

Life will fuck you over eventually, no matter what. I want to show that even through the worst part of his life, thanks to the support of others, Ember pushed through. The message should be more of a "Life will fuck you over, you can choose whether to bend over and let it happen or not"

For the love of god, give feedback. tell me (or another writer) if something was a horrible idea, I would like it a lot more than making the mistake again and again until you finally rage.
I'm actually a pretty chill person sometimes, don't let my constant swearing be intimidating. I'm normally not doing anything, so PM me if you want to talk about anything. I won't tell if you tell me not to tell.
