May not be writing at the moment, but...

I have been starting to pop up on Twitch from time to time. If you're ever interested in poking your head in, take a gander over here. I'm actually about to go live here in a few.

    Saying Adios to a Friend

So, folks... I'm sure most, if not all of you, know Obselescence in some way or another. For quite some time, he's been a moderator here, and organizer of quite a few story competitions and unexpected fads. Go stop by and wish him well, if you'd like. He had a large impact on me over the years, it's sad to see him go.

    Status Update

Next chapter is currently sitting at 2,500 words out of the 4,000 or so that I've set as a goal for chapter size. It's a bit hard going, I know what I want to write, but writing it is another story altogether. Once I have the rough draft finished, it's going to need a fair bit of work to get it up to a posting standard, but hopefully I'm thinking two to three days until it's ready for

Want some more Batpony/Thestral-centric content? Take a gander!

So, two of my long time friends on the site here (Talking shortly after creating accounts, both of whom have poked at my stuff on and off for some time now) have recently come together to work on something that is heavily centered around a created society of thestrals. They've told me it should be quite an interesting read, and I'm inclined to agree, having seen some of the content they're

    Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas to all! Enjoy the day, wherever you may be, whomever you may be with. Go watch some Christmas movies, have some holiday cheer... I suggest watching Home Alone 2. Or Die Hard. Both are excellent ones to watch.

So, I tried another manner of conveying a story idea that I've been throwing around now for... well, probably since sometime mid 2013. I just never felt the urge to write it, the confidence, what have you. I know that my writing period has been lacking, and I am trying to do some writing exercises (which are non-fimfic related, sorry) with a goal of getting to somewhere around 2k a day, with perhaps 3-5 days of writing a week. I'm slowly working on it, but honestly, I'm out of practice now, and it shows. The excerpt below will give one hell of an idea of just how out of practice. I'm also slowly working on rewriting parts / tweaking sections of ReBirth, but honestly? There's just so many things one can do with there time, and sadly there's only 24 hours in a day. My most productive hours have always been the late night from midnight to around four in the morning, and I just don't stay up that late anymore.

For those interested in Bebop, I've got a taste of it below, it's rough, but the goal is to not only have a crossover, but to capture the essence that is Cowboy Bebop and use that as the style for the story, when I eventually do writing enough to release it.

Take care, folks.

They had made a vital mistake, one which had assured their destruction. On order from on high, they had awoken a ghost, one that was better off left in the past. Now, he had come for them with a vengeance that seemed impossible for one man to possess, bringing with him further death on this day. He was out for blood, and only one man’s blood could sate his thirst. Vicious. Any others who had dared to stand before him had fallen, all of them.

Spike Spiegel had resurfaced after three years of being presumed dead. The Red Dragons leadership had seemed fine ignoring him at first. However, after Vicious’ failed coup, they had decided on the most extreme of circumstances; anyone ever associated with him must die. This included Vicious himself, the woman who held Spike’s heart, Julia, and Spike.

They had made a massive mistake. Their leadership was dead by the hands of Vicious, Julia had been gunned down by dispatched assassins, and now the ghost had come with his burning vengeance. He had mowed down any who had dared stand in his way, and now, as those remaining gathered at the base of the stairs leading to the rubbled top of the building, the sound of fighting above finally ceased.

As they stood there, only one thing was on their minds: Who would emerge from above? Had the ghost been exorcised, and the past put behind them? Or was the mad dog who would be king dead? Perhaps, if they were truly lucky, neither had survived, and the Red Dragons might possibly salvage what they could from the rubble, should the Mars government allow them the time.

A final gunshot pierced the silence, drawing the gathered crowd’s attention. Weapons drawn and breath held, they waited to see the outcome. From the dust, a figure slowly emerged, left arm clutching his side as rivulets of blood ran from various wounds all across his body. Hobbling his way slowly down the stairs, it was obvious that he had been severely wounded himself.

Not a single member of the small crowd below raised their weapon as Spike came to a stop midway down the stairs. The ghost had vanquished the mad dog, but at what cost? Slowly raising his head, Spike let out a weak chuckle, a smirk forming as he looked at them all, one eye barely open. Left hand still clutching his side, his right slowly raised, his loose fist broken as his pointer finger and thumb stuck out. Everyone looked on in confusion as a single word filled the air.

“...bang.”

His hand moved just like that of a firing gun before he toppled over. Somewhere, a star fell.

“And the reports are still flooding in at this time from the incident earlier today at the infamous Red Dragon Syndicate headquarters. The details are still unclear, however what is known thus far is that earlier today one man entered the building shortly before the explosions began, which blew out windows on numerous levels. In the aftermath, it would appear that the entire leadership of the syndicate was left dead, which is potentially good tidings for Mars. The Red Dragons have long been a prob-”

With a click of the remote, the screen went black and Jet sighed, leaning back into the chair. “Spike, you moron,” he muttered, slowly shaking his head. The sound of a door opening drew his attention just in time to catch Faye walking in, a dour expression on his face. “Anything?”

Shaking her head, Faye plopped down onto the couch, stretching out her arms. “Not a damn thing. Took forever to get there, and once I finally did, well,” she sighed, shaking her head once more for good measure. “Only thing I could find out was some chatter about a ghost from the past, and some nonsense about him disappearing. Completely struck out,” Faye finished, leaning forward a bit. “Then, to make it even better, I nearly crashed on the way back, damn thruster.”

“Disappearing? You mean you couldn’t find him at all? Sheesh,” Jet grumbled, rubbing at his face for a few seconds. “And to top things off, the poor girl is in terrible shape after that firefight. We won’t be leaving Mars for awhile, and with that thruster out… no way to go bounty hunting, either. Dead in the water…”

Faye rolled her eyes, annoyance evident in her features. “I should’ve just shot him instead of the ship…
