Hello. I'm NocturnalLillith. I guess this is my first blog post.
I don't write much ponyfic. I do have my OCs, but since I cannot draw and most of the pony generators tend to look crap or don't have certain things, they will probably remain unarted until I end up writing my fic.
My main idea for a fic is called "Six plus One", which is my pony characters being part of FiM and how that might change things if they were there. The title refers to the Mane Six, as well as my main OC, Coin Flip. No, he isn't going to be some seventh Element character, nor is he going to turn the Mane Six into his herd. The closest relationship he has with one of the Six would most likely be Twilight and that would be something like rivals/study-buddies. Chapters will generally be short and each one will cover an episode (though there will be times where Flip and his little sister Golden Sparkle are doing their own thing, mostly because an episode works well by itself or I couldn't think of what Flip and Golden would be doing in those situations.) I'm definitely going to have fun post-"Lesson Zero". Just so you know, I'm not planning on doing an "Equestria Girls (and Boy)" fic.
However, in planning this fic, I have to work out some of the background details of the universe. Do Ponies go into heat like horses do or do they pretty much have an endless breeding season like humans do? What effect would this have on the world? Do Pegasi and Earth Ponies have their own mystical practices? What effects on society would having more mares than stallions have? What kind of religion is there in Equestria? One thing that I've nailed down is the age thing. Quite simply, Ponies are not Humans and would not have the same milestones for development. When you are reading my fics, unless I say otherwise, developmentally, the CMC are 11-12 and the Mane Six are 20. Chronologically, the CMC are 8 and the Mane Six are 16. My main justification for the developmental ages is that the characters are old enough to know what they want and young enough to not be there yet. The justificaton for the chronological ages is that Horses lives are faster. A horse can walk from birth. "Baby Cakes" showed that pegasus and unicorn foals can fly and use magic respectively from at least a month old. I'm putting First Heat at around 8-9.
Maybe I'll post my notes as fics. I'll do that as soon as I straighten out if I'm writing them from a Doylist POV or a Watsonian POV. I will, however, post my barebones profiles for my OCs
