Not dead yet!

So, been a while since I posted a blog post checking in with you sexy scalawags, so here's a brief update. Been working hard to keep grades up during this semester, and it's mostly been paying off. Had my first sick day today, though (part of the reason I'm writing this is I feel a little stir crazy).

Also, The Pirate King now has a Pirate Queen. Yep, yours truly has a girlfriend now. so, that's a thing.

Let's see, what else. Oh, I've been working on a lot of my nonpony fiction of late. I already posted one of my short stories in a previous blog post that I'm submitting to this semester's university sponsored literary journal. I also am continuing work on my novel series and have gotten a good headway on it. In addition, I'm working on a collaborative story with a fraternity brother who also writes eloquently that's a steampunk swashbuckling adventure, so there's that. I even have a biting-off-more-than-I-can-chew idea for the distant future, wherein I plan to write a deconstruction of the Young Adult Supernatural Romance genre that skullfucks everything you know about the tropes like Spec Ops: The Line did with First Person Military Shooters.

However, none of that matters because I've decided to get away from it all and take a short breather writing pony stories again. Besides, while it has a tendency to take longer, horse words are much easier to write and I due still owe you guys All Along the Watchtower from a few months ago. So, don't hold your breath or mark any dates, but hopefully I'll have a rough draft soon.

Which reminds me. I'm going to be hunting some of you down to be my guinea pigs for my horse stories. It'll likely only be a few to prevent massive leaks and to keep it limited to a few elite veterans in editing and peer reviewing. If you're chosen, I will contact you, likely via PM. Please do not ask me to be a proofreader. Seriously, it puts me on the spot and is awkward for both of us if you straight up ask. if you ask, then chances are I'll be even less inclined to let you in on it frankly. Likewise, if you're not asked, don't take it as a personal insult. I might want you on the team but just not have enough room, or you might be a good person and great friend but just not be the type of person I need for this task.
