I'm not dead! I've just been a bit inactive on FiMfic, occupied by trivial things such as classes and video games.
My excessively-long writing hiatus will be coming to an end soon enough as when I finish the first chapters of two, brand-new fics I've been working on for quite some time. Both are a significantly different from any of my previous works as they have been planned out, written with attention to detail, and, most importantly, have in-depth characters. I've noticed that my prior works have been rather lacking but I have since solved this issue. Without further ado, here they are...
WARGAMES
Everything in the world has a magical signature, from the rocks and trees to steel and concrete. Even Synthetic Intelligence Systems aren't excluded, each having their own unique one like any other being. However, they aren't treated like everyone else; used as tools for construction, mining, and, most importantly, combat.
The line between Synthetic Intelligence and sapience will be drawn, and one pilot will learn how its crossed.
Essentially my first attempt at both a military-centered and anthro-style fic, WARGAMES delves into a world where Equestria's technology is a mixture of magic and our own. It follows the aforementioned pilot as he bonds with a very unusual S.I., calling into question what could be considered 'morally ethnic' and if artificially-created beings can be considered to be as real as you or I.
Black Seas
Pirates. Its a word often spoken with hatred and malice, for none could possibly find seafaring bandits remotely pleasant after hearing the tales of how they pillage and rob sea-side settlements for all their worth. Not that I blame them since that most think of the old-world ones, who went 'yargh' and walked around with wooden limbs and eyepatches. Today's are more like small, private armies, armed with the best weapons and armor money can buy; sailing across both sky and sea looking for their next potential target. Of course, they also eat, sleep, drink, and chat like you or I do on a daily basis. How would I know?
I'm one of them.
My biggest literature achievement thus far, Black Seas is a mammoth; spanning several major arcs and will most definitely surpass a hundred-thousand words. It has been in development for over an entire year and spans nearly the entire globe, along with the land below and above the sea as it follows a pirate named Captain as he attempts to wrangle up a crew after his last one mutinied against him and get revenge. Of course, politics and other things get in the way and he's forced to deal with things unlike any other.
Progress on both fics will (hopefully) be posted soon in my upcoming blogs, with tidbits and teasers of what's to come in them. WARGAMES Until then, I wish you all happy reading.
