I know I only recently came back to this story 18 months after it was started, but I didn't want this thing to die. I have a few ideas for things I want to flesh out, but I want to restate the purpose of this story.
The Sparkle Essays is an attempt to flesh out the universe of Friendship is Magic by building on the foundation of the canon material. All essays are written before Magical Mystery Cure and use information known to Twilight at that point. This doesn't mean that it wont feature information post-Season 3, such as the history of the Wonderbolts, but will not feature info not known to Twilight before the end of Season 3, like the Tree of Harmony. This is a resource that anyone can freely use for individual projects, intended to be an "Unofficial Guide" sort of thing. I was going to base my own projects off of it, but this has taken my interest. 
I want the stuff in the essays to be in line and stay in line with canon. All that stuff about the War of Long Night is no longer canon as of the Season 4 premiere and will thus be edited to fit the canon. I may make things vague or incomplete to allow the show to fill in later. I won't write anything I think the show will contradict. This isn't an alternate universe piece, this is meant to accompany the universe.
I believe the comments section is a place for ideas to flow and constructive criticism to be made. Thus, users such as Fan Of Most Everything contribute greatly to the story and to the community as a whole. If you have ideas, don't be afraid to share them! 
My readers, I believe, are pretty smart people. I'll try to put quality into each of my essays and edit the ones I have to make sure they are to my standards. I will edit the 'History and Geography' essays and put in Twilight's 'Case Studies' later.
Now, I am a college student and thus I can't reliably put time into this or any other project. I do intend to edit some chapters, put in some more essays, and keep this train going, but there may be stops in progress. Thank you for any support/input given!
