Ponies are naturally hervivore, except batponies, who developped fangs to capture fish. Apart from them, any pony can survive with a completely vegetarian diet.
That being said, ponies don't mind eating eggs, milk and fish. The fist two cause no harm to the source animal. Fish, because batponies eat it and they're such basic animals that they don't feel remorse for them. That includes almost anything the sea has to offer.
They would probably not mind eating lizards if it were large and harmless enough lizards to be used as a food source.
However, they're still not made to eat meat. Since they're used to eat vegetables, meat feels to them chewy and sticky. And a pony that eats a lot of meat may end with diarrhea.
Eating chicken or lamb would get a similar reaction as when we see somebody eating dog or monkey, perhaps even more intense.
