Chapter 4 is coming; also, recommendations! · 6:21am Jul 2nd, 2012
Heya, folks!
I was hoping to knock out Chapter 4 of "The Prince of Ponyville" this weekend, but a combination of things (including the site here being pretty wonky all day) sort of got in the way. Don't worry, though! I'm just under 1k words into the chapter, and I'm hoping to have a decent version up tomorrow night.
In the meantime, here's some other crap for you to enjoy.
First off, a repost from this morning: PONIES: The Anthology II. It's not quite as awesome as the original, but clocking in at almost an hour and a half, it's got plenty of goodness. My particular favorite bits are "Pinkie the Heavy" (about 7 minutes in), "The Trotting Dead" (about 44 minutes in), and the running "Oh no, not U2!" puns (because U2 deserves to suffer for all eternity for creating "Beautiful Day," which I hate more than any person should reasonably hate anything).
[Addendum: I forgot about Derpy's muffins song at around the 29 minute mark! I admit it, I squeed.]
Second, I spotted this li'l gem on the FiM front page last night, and to my surprise, almost no one's seen it! For shame, people. The story is "Resevoir Ponies", and it is a pony-themed parody of Quentin Tarantino's first major film, Resevoir Dogs. The premise itself was enough to sell me on a read, but the writing's excellent, too. Only one chapter in so far, but hey, give it a look.
Third, there's a new chapter of Chengar Qordath's "The Life and Times of a Winning Pony" up. If you've enjoyed Cloud Kicker and Blossomforth in my stories, well, he gets all the credit for coming up with their characterizations. So go read his stuff, yo.
Finally, you've probably seen this up in there in the Featured box, but "Twilight's Movie Night" is worth checking out. Basically, the girls rent a pony-themed knockoff of A Nightmare on Elm Street, and then Rarity spends several thousand words being absolutely hilarious. (And some other stuff happens, but that's the gist of it.)
There, you've got stuff to tide yourself over. I'm gonna stare at my word processor for awhile and then give up and watch that damned anthology again.
PONIES: The Anthology II.
