Delvius

I've written a few FoE fics, mostly to please myself and others and to practice my craft as a writer. Now for 4th-wall breaking. "Greetings! I am Delvius, chronicler of Roam and friend to Goldwreath."

At Last, a Not So Goodbye

So it should have been apparent to anyone who's been following me the past 2~ years that my writing has slowed down. I published updates and blog posts months apart. To be honest it's been eating away at me; on the one hand I felt an obligation to finish what I started, and on the other hand real life stretched my attention so thin I could barely ever find time to sit down and write fanfiction. I

Honest report on the state of my stories and this account

Hello, everyone! It's been far too long, and I apologize. Real life has a way of taking up your time, and to be honest this account has gone neglected. It and the stories within it. I'll admit, for a few years now I've had a reduced urge to write -- mostly because I had other things to write about. I should have informed you all sooner, but even approaching this account made me tense. I was

    Branching Out

Hey guys! So it's with a somewhat heavy heart that I'm writing this blogpost right now. A while ago I finished writing the most recent chapter for New Roam Innovatus, and have written about a 3rd of the next one. But in the days since I've been doing a lot of thinking. Looking back over the comments of my stories, trying to get an idea of where my career as a writer is heading, the likes.

The Next Chapter, and Plans for the Future

With the recent chapter published, and the next one already in the works, I honestly feel like my passion for writing has been reignited. Not that it was ever snuffed, for long periods of time I stood back from my stories in favor of more immediately important things, like school and relationships. Perhaps it's just the fact that I'm still on break, but I feel like I have regained the mental

I could use some help · 2:00pm Jun 30th, 2012

Okay, so, apparently a strong point of mine in my story is making the 'in-between' times bot boring.

However, my weak point is character development.

So, here's what I ask: Can you guys help me find out how to properly convey a character's emotions without making it sound bland or simple? I'll really need to know for when I write Char. dev. chapters.

um, you have no problem with character development from what I've seen
but here are some tips:
1. if you can combine character development with other activities (exploration, fighting etc.) so much the better, Project Horizons is great example of this
2. detail expressions as much as you see fit (usually more detail here is better), because expressions convey things that words can't
3. tone of voice also goes along with the previous one as well
4. keep doing what you're doing, from what I've seen you don't really have a problem with this

Nice. Ill help you.:ajsmug:

Oh, and the "perk" things at the end of each chapter help a bit. It makes it a bit more apparent.

So, what you're trying to say is don't put too much self doubt? And, if he gets into a relationship, don't make it cheesy?

I see. Thanks for the input.
