Family Troubles · 4:16am Jan 3rd, 2015
Earlier today, around 3:37 P.M. EST, my great grandmother died right before my eyes. She lived in a retirement home in North Carolina and was bedridden with age. At 89, she didn't have much time left and my mom told her that it was okay to let go and to see my other family members that have died in heaven, as well as my great uncle, who had died a month earlier. She couldn't speak because her teeth were out and the fatigue. She also didn't know that he died earlier and I couldn't tell if she was surprised or not. I, unfortunately, was the first one to notice that she wasn't breathing and the nurses then verified that she had passed on. This has been the first time a person I know has died in front of me. Now, I ask this question:
When was the first time somebody you knew and/or cared about died?
My condolences to you and your family for your loss.
I wish I had something better to say other than I'm sorry. I wish I could help, just keep an eye on the positive things, however small they may be
I'm so sorry about your and your family's loss, I wish you the best. When I lost someone close to me, I always remember a special quote that helped me push forward, "The people you love, truly love, never die. You keep them with you, and like this you keep them alive." I hope it helps you push forward as well.
Well...I had...
