    An Intricate Response

    Dear FIMFic,

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? If you’re still around, I’m thinking you’ve probably gotten wind of a rather controversial topic posted by MrNumbers regarding the state of FimFiction’s story landscape. While I normally don’t do this sort of thing, An Intricate Disguise wrote a rather thought provoking response to it.

    Jurassic World tonight

    Dear FIMFic,

So, it’s here. A movie I’ve been waiting anxiously for and secretly hoping it might not happen.

    5 Long Years

    Dear FIMFic,

So, I just realized it's been 5 years and 18 days since I wrote the final chapter to The Golden Armor. A lot of things have happened since then, but I can't really believe it. Things have changed so much in those years, but you all still are there and some may even still be waiting for more of it.

I guess maybe it's time I did something about that.

I have a question for all of you

    Dear FIMFic,

So, I've recently been trying to write new chapters to All That Glitters and Across The Universe, but a problem has kept coming up. Whenever I sit down to write, I get blocked by an idea buzzing around in my head. Some of you did enjoy my failed contest entry, From One Unicorn to Another, and I've suddenly had new ideas to further that story thread.

Obligatory New Year's post · 3:17am Jan 1st, 2015

Dear FIMFic,

Well, it's certainly been an interesting year, hasn't it? A lot of things went on, laughs were had and tears were shed, battles won and lost and a season ender I doubt we will forget. FIMFiction itself has grown and morphed from a fanfic textpage to a website for fostering imaginative and creative thought as well as enough clop and drama that Facebook may slap knighty with a copyright infringement lawsuit. There were good dragons in stories and Bad Dragon in our ads, literary kings, drama queens, jackasses and a flipping partridge in a pear tree.

And amid all of that, it was quite the year for me, too.

So, I suppose I better start by saying all of you freaking rock. I hit several milestones this year that I never imagined in a million years I would reach, like the fact 1700 (1699 as of this writing) think I'm interesting enough to pay attention to.

The Golden Armor hit 3600 likes, 29k views total and over six and a half thousand favorites, as well as achieving it's own TVTropes page and complete live reading.

Left With A Kiss ended on a high note, achieving almost 1k likes and perhaps becoming my best story written. It also tore down several walls I put around myself, like being willing to add Mature themes to my stories.

Slide became one of my most beloved titles. I must say, this one shocked me the most with the overwhelming approval of such an off-the-wall idea.

Compassion did the unthinkable, reaching a mind boggling ratio of 134 likes to every 1 dislike.

There are no words to express my thanks to all of you for what you've done. You all have supported me in all my efforts, both the successes and the failures, if I can even call them that, and for that, I really do owe every single one of you my deepest thanks. So, here are a few I would like to single out for a special thanks.

Cerulean Voice: If it weren't for you, dude, I would be in a very dark and depressing place. I am constantly honored to call you my friend and am glad you think highly of me, even when I don't of myself. I also want to thank you personally for allowing me free reign over the character of Giratina in our collab, Burning Day Reckoning. Thank this guy for me, everybody, because if it wasn't for his support, I would have quit this site months ago.

vren55: I don't want to call you my second best friend on the site, especially since you've been a mainstay for me. With all the constant discussions and your helpful insight, I honestly am glad I met you and improved greatly because of it. From a year ago when I was arrogant and sure I was a success, you really taught me to value writing again and that improving does not always mean you are wrong.

Other mentions:
Celestias Paladin - most amazing guy with perhaps the best moral code on the site.
Missing Link - always with the friendliest comment and the right words when you need them.
Nomad Sigma - chatting with him is one of my favorite pastimes and I hope to read something from him soon.
Ayemel - such a wonderful person with a personality to match.
Blagdaross - if you want a pro's opinion, this guy has the best of the best.
Feather Scratch - from steampunk to adventure, this guy has the greatest stories.
RainbowBob - why can't I be more like you?
All my followers and those who favorite my stories - you guys are where the magic truly happens.

Well, now that the thank you's are out of the way, I suppose you all want to know what I am up to and what I've got planned for the year. So, I do have a few plans, but I think I will let you all in on just two of them. Now, these are two of my most prized projects, so do enjoy them yourselves and please hold all comments until you read the whole thing.

Firstly, I know you all want more of The Golden Armor: Part II. Be assured I have heard your requests, but I have also been reading the comments and have decided there is only one right way to satisfy both requests and concerns. Therefore, the current Part II is On Hiatus while I rewrite the entire plot.

Why? Here's why: it's too damn complicated. When I first posted the story, I had no input from anyone else but the little voices in my head and, as such, the plot is everywhere. I have threads I don't want to follow anymore, characters in places they've grown stagnant and plot elements that lead to nowhere, making it boring for me to write and for you to read. So, to resolve the issues, I am temporarily halting production to fix what is broken: Comet and Angel being apart.

Secondly, there is a special mare I want you to meet.

Say hello to Black Widow, a mare you'll just die to meet. She is my new addition to me and vren55's story, Swords and Hearts. Keep your eyes peeled for her to show up pretty soon!

Again, thanks everyone and be ready for the awesomeness to come of 2015!

Highest Regards,
C.B.

PS: And check out Cerulean's new story, Essenza di Amor and Ayemel's profile. She made that sexy as hell pony you see above.

I am? I guess this somewhat short tempered and easily frustrated Texan should take the compliment before shutting up.

I think I should probably do that "bat Pony in the Solar Guard" story myself, so many plans so little time. Have a good New Year my friend.

Just don't make a New Year's resolution...

Sexy as hell

you'll just die to meet

HAHAHAHAHA:raritywink:

And thanks for the Shoutout Comet. You've been a great friend too. So don't worry, I'm not unhappy about being second best XD

Its a ponified cross between Raven from Teen Titans and Akame from Akame ga Kill.

An enrire re-write, well, whatever floats your boat, I for one was content with they way it is but it's your story, just make it at least as good as the current one, but you'll probobBly do better anyways. Good day and happy New Years, and until the next update, I apparently have: 2,437,358words to read. Oh dear.

You should note that plan for Golden Armor Part II in its description and mark its status accordingly.
