Thunderbirds Are Go! (2015) Teaser Trailer · 7:00pm Dec 31st, 2014

IT'S HAPPENING!

Let me break it down. The original Thunderbirds from 1965 was one of my all time favourite shows as a child; I would watch it every day before and after school, and my mum would always record the episodes for me on VHS (yeah, remember those?). Needless to say, I loved this show; the sets, the action, the music, the characters and the fact that everything was done practically made this series stand out from my other favourites.

Like all hard-core Thunderbirds fans, I was greatly disappointed by the 2004 live action movie and thought that in this day and age, something as old school as Thunderbirds would soon be long gone and forgotten by the world. But with the revival of such series as Star Trek and Star Wars, I had a small glimmer of hope that someone would look back at the works done by the late great Gerry Anderson and bring them back the glory they so rightfully deserve.

And thank the all mighty Lord, someone did!

Not only did they give us this short but awesome trailer, but they have also revealed the updated designs for the Thunderbirds themselves:

Thunderbird 1

Thunderbird 2

Thunderbird 3

Thunderbird 4

Thunderbird 5

These redesigns were enough to convince me that the people behind this remake actually give a shit about the original show, as each craft almost flawlessly resembles it's original appearance. The only one that doesn't is Thunderbird 5; I did a back take at first, but I quickly warmed up to this complete re-tool, as it does look more like a futuristic space station.

So all in all, I'm very excited for this new show and I hope it's up to par with the original, as that show left some huge shoes to fill.

Now there's only one more thing to say...

5... 4... 3... 2... 1!

And the series seems to have stalled. There hasn't been an episode in nearly a year.

It's not uncommon for British shows to have an almost year long hiatus after the first half of a series has aired. This happened with both the first and seconds ones too.

And, after nearly 5 years on our screens, Thunderbirds are Go has come to an end. At least they had a chance to wrap up the character's stories. The original Tracy boys are kinda stuck in limbo.

Need to do some catching up myself. Waiting for the Complete Series 2 and 3 to release on DVD.

I'll give no spoilers then.

Especially now that it seems the banned S2 episode Inferno will finally be released to the physical UK market.

Finally. I've been trying to find a copy of that for ages. Would you believe it got pulled from the air twice?

It was unfortunately released close to one of the biggest disasters this country has had, and people needed time to recover.

Plus, my family has Amazon Prime, so I was able to watch it there.

Very true. The second time it was due to air it was pulled due to the inquiry into the accident starting.

I hadn't realised it was on Amazon Prime.
