    Winter storm

Any of my other southern bronies singing winter wrap up with ice in the bathtub and the oven running to try to warm the house up enough to open the door. Needless to say, looks like I get a staycation from work.

    Update Mid Crisis

It feels like every drive is Sunday at one in the morning. Kinda feels funny, eight months ago, I had only just gotten my license. Now I drive a borrowed car with a letter from work taped to my dash stating the fact I am an essential worker.

    Update (Nov 11)

Kish, it's been a long time since the last time I checked in. Haven't had much time to. But since today I don't have the response time for gaming, the mental faculties for writing... and most definitely the lung power to do anything physical... I figured I might as well catch you guys up.

In short, I'm down with the flu.

Christmas Round One. · 6:57pm Dec 13th, 2014

"This?" I stand holding out the ninth cute outfit In Water Jewel's closet.

"NO! Not cute enough!" She snaps at me.

"Not cute enough! Kid, This is a Suit! My favorite suit at your age! It has POOH, on it."

"I don't like Pooh." Water Jewel replied.

"Jewel! You have to look cute for Christmas!"

She glared at me.

"Alright Kid, what do you want to wear?"

"Dashie!" she exclaimed.

I raised both eyebrows. "Dash? You want to wear your Dash outfit?"

Water Jewel nods. "It is cute enough for pictures!"

"Kid! It's Christmas. Besides her hair there is NO Red or green on it!"

Water Jewel gives me that one look that I can't resist. Sighing I dive into her closet and pull out her Dasie outfit. I don't know why she insists on wearing that one every time it is clean but I swear. If it is clean, she is wearing it. Maybe it is the glitter, there is a LOT of glitter on the shirt.

With a family of Six getting out of the house is a chore and a half. Especially when the car is not here to be packed yet. We had no idea when Dad would return from work, we just knew he would, and soon. And when he did, he expected to enter his room then when he came out we would be ready to go.

On the couch sat two laundry baskets. One with all the presents, the second with our contribution to the food. I looked around to make sure nothing was missing. Food and present wise, we were set. Everything else... "WHERE IS GLITTER!" I protest loudly.

Zap came sleepily out of his room. "What?"

I face-palm. "We have to leave in little under an hour! And NONE of you are up?"

He rubs his eyes.

I roll mine. "Go get dressed, You have Jewel. I'm feeding up the barnyard. I loop down to the barn quickly my nose wrinkling at the stench of old hay that I needed to deal with and get out of there, but didn't have time. Food, water, scratch Fudge, then back up to the house.

Upon entering the School House where Glitter has her room, I notice three things. One, mom is on her computer, two, Water Jewel is with our aunt in her house. Three, Glitter is also still asleep. I face palm once more leaving mom to deal with the snoozing Glitter while I grab water bottles and my purse to add to the stack of stuff that needed to go.

Upon returning to the Bunk House I grab Water Jewel some breakfast, and drop off everything else in the baskets. Collecting my sister's road toys and adding them too to the basket I return to the School house and deliver the food and do her hair while she stays glued to the window watching for Daddy to come home.

---------------------

Finally Dad arives and we quickly pack up while Dad changes from his work closes to something a bit more festive.

Glitter is finally up and Zap and her are wrapping their presents.

I turn to the last item on my list, carrots, and celery. Grabbing my peeler and big chief's knife I make quick work of the two, mesmerizing Zap as he watches me juggle and toss the items. (I love watching people's expressions, especially his.) I take the stack of veggies and toss them into a container and load them in the car.

Dad by this time is out, and is barking at us for once again being late. We find the last few things and load them into the car and get in.

The ride to Grandma's and Grandpa's is about an hour long. Dad chattered the whole way there about his day of work. I swear, if we ain't traveling, Dad ain't talking, but if we are traveling, Dad talks our our ear off.

Finally we arrive (After Dad does his traditional 'Get the whole family' (Except for me) lost. We arrive to being the first ones there. Which surprised me. My aunt and Uncle that I was coming to see were spending the night there while they are in town.

We get everything inside and Zap goes outside to play with my grandparent's Bird Dog.

(Old image, he is fill grown now. I can't hold him like this anymore.)

Glitter and I took off to go say 'Sugar Cubes' To all of our old friends in the neighborhood. (Hey just didn't sound nice enough.) While we discussed this that and the other on Books and life.

We returned just in time for my Aunt and uncle to arrive. My younger cousin Bright came rushing in with his Spider Man boots on super excited. He grabbed Zap and immedatly started talking a million miles a second. He noticed WJ blinked and said. "You like Hello Pony?"

While the rest of the cousing lined up at the Kitchen table comparing favorite tablet games. I sat with the adults sharing stories. And fell asleep in the process.

Some things that stand out during yesterday were.

- The Traditonal family sport. (This year, basketball game.)

-WJ and Bright both have the exact same tooth loose.

-Finally getting dinner where Glitter ran the show at the 'kids' table. (I remember when it was just Glitter and I out there.) Oh I wish I had had that recorded. It was a HOOT! Especially when we discovered we were sitting around the table by age.

- Water Jewel trying to explain the Christmas story. (She is FIVE!) Another thing I wish I had had recorded.

-My cousins Errond and his sister Graceful and their recations during present time, and photo time.

-And the look on everyone's faces when they discovered the rumors were true about me liking MLP. Water Jewel got Fluttershy, A book on how to draw all the ponies, headphones, and All the Frozen Characters. And of course after I left my 'adult toys' in the bag I sat and doweled over that drawing book.

-Glitter tore her boot so in exchange for me fixing it, she is going to give me her water Color set that was on my wishlist, and ended up in her bag. Again.... This is a yearly accordance. I ask for something and one of my siblings gets it.

Then on the way home we took the scenic rout and and hunted down Christmas lights. It was quite enjoyable, Though not as much as some years. For we have had a very rainy season and few have gotten out to put the lights outside.

If you watch my other blog I will be soon posting my thank you post on them and you can see what I got. Yep I did get a Boogie Board. Not the one I was expecting, this one is WAY better.

Round two starts tomorrow. (Church) then I have no idea when we will have round three, four, and five. Who knows.

2651810 He was my favorite. I won't share his name online I am still not sure what Grandpa was thinking on that one. I am really glad the chose him to keep. The only other one was Pete, and she was a little lopsided.

2651939 I'm deathly allergic to cats. But all other animals I am a critter freak.

2651964 Lilly is a formation flyer. She has a special gift for helping keep formations together. Her weakness has to do with the fact she is a cool weather Pegasi and has trouble dealing with hot objects. She has a tendency to burn down kitchens and such.

The reason she is such a great teacher is because her special talent is in formation flying. But she does struggle when it comes to trying to fly on her own. She tends to loose where she is.

2652817 Lilly had a three hour flight that she does twice a week. So even though she isn't naturally a good long distance flyer, that flight has honed her skills and made it so she can do it. But if she were to ever slack off it would take her a long time to recover that ability. And she has done this since she was a small foal. She cannot fly fast for the three hours, so she has poor stamina but good endurance.

2653230 You can over come anything if you work at it.

2653234 I procrastinate in some things. but if I really want something I will strive for it with all my strength mind and soul.
