Try drawing things that you normally wouldn't draw? Really weird things that you wouldn't think about until you had someone suggest it? Try something like Celestia eating an ice-cream Twilight head while wearing an stuffed puppy for a hat. Drawing really weird or cute things generally does the trick for me.
