    Back to TEAM BASS

Urgh. What a year already, eh?

I hate to be the bearer of sad and late news, but I must(and not choke while doing so) let you know that Monty Oum has passed on. He was in coma from an allergic reaction around a week ago.

Granted, to non-RT, RWBY, or RvB people, it doesn't sound like much.

Monty was only 33, married, and made his own show. No. He made his own universe.

Regarding Protecting Our Dreams and Dragonfire

    Why hello again!

I apologize for my dropping off Fimfiction, as I've been more invested in reading stories both here and elsewhere rather than actually working on my own stories.

In light of this, I've got both good news and bad news.

Why, is it really July already?

I do realize that currently it's been three months since Protecting Our Dreams got updated, yet I'm still surprised how it still brings people in, albeit not on a massive scale, which is fine for now.

    Insert Snazzy Title Here

Why hello there friendly person/human/possible equine being/alien that decided to visit my page! I welcome you, and many thanks for looking. I'm not 100% percent set up, but I am on my way to having my first story of hopefully several pony-related stories posted.

Team BASS and Trifecta · 4:36pm Nov 24th, 2014

Since I am unable to sleep at this hour, it is a heavy excited heart that I unfurl yet another batch of ideas that should make you laugh until crying.

I'll admit that comedic writing has always been a love of mine, and MLP doesn't rarely fail to be short on humor. So instead of the usual long epic tale of Twilight and the Mane 6, I feel the need to shake up the snow globe and see what I can work with.

First up, "Team BASS": A Comedic Crossover combining both RWBY and Equestria Girls post-Rainbow Rocks, BASS asks the questions, such as:
"If you let Sonata loose with Nora on a Thursday, how much in property damage are you paying?"
"If Sunset Shimmer now not only finds herself in a completely new world but also is now charge of the Dazzlings, how will she react to that change?"
"If Aria uses a sledgehammer that double as a cannon, and Adagio uses a staff with a sword inside, how is it that Sonata uses curved swords with flare guns to double as roller skates?"
And the big one, "Who will win Jaune's heart over? Pyrrha or Adagio? Do hips lie or does a charming face hold no secrets?"

Team BASS is a rather interesting and intricate idea I've had racing around in my brain for the past few days. I haven't started actually writing yet, but it is in development. While the story does lend itself to be funny(due to the Dazzlings and Sunset's antics, not to mention RWBY's established humor already) it's also meant to be taken seriously at certain points.
But that doesn't mean that one cannot have a teeny bit of fun, especially with Nora's love of pancakes versus Sonata's adoration of tacos.
Grimm heads will roll, Sonata and Aria will see who is worse, and Adagio and Sunset are going to try not to hurt each other, for now.

Next up, a actual project that has been in development for a few months called "Trifecta".

Trifecta is a alternate universe story starring Sunset Shimmer, Rarity, and Twilight Sparkle. But everyone isn't in the roles you'd expect them to normally be, save for Sunset and Celestia. And even then, the roles they play are still different.

Sunset Shimmer is Celestia's student and a Princess, but not an Alicorn. She's still sarcastic, witty, thickly skinned and somewhat bold for a unicorn of her demeanor.

Rarity is a struggling fashion designer that's moved from Ponyville to Canterlot to find better work. While ponies are willing to pay for her hand-crafted clothes, Rarity doesn't have enough business to keep her afloat just yet. So, putting in a few small favors, she has landed a job at Canterlot Castle as Princess Sunset Shimmer's newfound assistant.

Twilight Sparkle and Celestia are two sides of the same coin. Celestia is a full bodied Alicorn and the main ruler over Equestria, Twilight Sparkle is a meager earth pony who can use unicorn magic and summon magic wings to fly, and is a simple secret test subject. Twilight wishes only to help Equestria, Celestia wants to implement Alicorns into all levels of society to avoid any sudden dangers. Celestia is full of knowledge and a source of guidance, Twilight Sparkle knows next to nothing about the outside world or social protocol and wants to learn more.

And that's just the main four characters.

Trifecta is my honest first attempt at making a genuine MLP based story. I wanted to go off the well-worn Slice of Life tagged, overused, "Elements of Harmony"-esque story people so frequently use.

What's more ironic is what the word Trifecta means in relation to Sunset, Rarity, and Twilight, as they are three main protagonists. A Trifecta is to correctly predict and or bet on the three horses that make first, second, and third in a horse race. You'll see why that's important in a just a little bit.

Everyone's day is going fairly smoothly at Canterlot Castle. Sunset meets Rarity and the pair walks through Sunset's lessons. Celestia disapproves of Sunset having an assistant, much less a new assistant to boot. Everything is calm and tranquil.

Meanwhile, beneath Canterlot Castle in the gem filled mines, a secret lab is busy testing Twilight Sparkle, fully designated Twilight Sparkle X01-ALI-E, who not knowing her own strength, accidentally injures several labponies so she can finally see the outside world she had been promised to see each day but never even offered a glimpse.

Sunset gives Rarity a tour of Canterlot Castle after lunch, when while sauntering through a hallway, the pair are both scared stiff as Twilight crashes through the wall to sit down next to them, ecstatic that she has found a pair of what she calls "saviors and outer-world teachers".

Rarity and Sunset are stunned by Twilight's offer.

And then the infamous Bounty Hunter duo of power couple Rainbow Dash and a rope using, shotgun toting Applejack come barging into the main lobby, under orders to capture Twilight alive and anyone associated with her to be arranged dead.

Sunset and Rarity now find themselves with both running away from Canterlot and all they've known their entire lives, Twilight finds a pair of teachers to show her everything she wanted to know about the outside world, and Celestia calls in almost every free agent villain she knows for a single purpose: "Bring me Twilight Sparkle. Alive."

...Well, that dragged on longer than I hoped for. Trifecta is based around three cores things:
1. The question "Who will teach me how to be me if I don't even know about the world around me?" This spawned Twilight's character, partly, and set up the other plot points.
2. Shipping! Believe it or not, romance factors into Trifecta. There's heavy AppleDash, implied RariLight, implied Sunsarity, and implied SunsetSparkle. Everybody but Celestia and those underage is trying to kiss someone at some point.
3. Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. This is where the concept of the rest of Twilight's character, Sunset, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack all slid into place. While Trifecta isn't as risqué or over the top as PSG, it does have a similar parody of famous works for it's content in addition to the zany cast.

In short, expect Big Mac to be like GarterBelt, minus a few personal kinks, with others added. That means Rainbow and Applejack are Scanty and Kneesocks, and Twilight the unsuspecting Brief.

Let me know what interests you, as I'll be working on these in my off time.

Until then, stay frosty lads and lasses.
