'What is Left' now in Draft 3 · 6:19am Nov 23rd, 2014
I've decided I'm going to do a slightly better job of keeping you guys (or just the few of you who are interested) updated on my progress. My next story is going through expected unexpected revisions. I'm making major changes to the second act, mostly rewriting it. There was a particularly difficult scene that I dumped almost 10,000 words into since draft one that's going to end up only being about 1,500 words long. I have a problem with needing important scenes to be 100% perfect. Allowing myself to suck is critical to productivity, but it's tough when my internal editor is screaming at me to fix stuff.
I had a strong burst of productivity in the beginning of this month that eventually died out. I've written and processed 12,000 words so far this month. Disappointing, I know, but I'm trying to get more writing done. I've recently gotten several encouraging comments and messages from my little pack of followers, and I want to thank you all for being so supportive--it makes me want to write even more.
I don't know when the story will be complete, but I'm trying to make this the final draft. When it gets to the stage where I need proofreaders, I'll make a blog post and those of you interested can get to read it early to give me some much needed feedback before I publish.
Here is a quick rundown of the status of the story:
Act 1: Mostly finished. New opening to be written. Minor polish pending.
Act 2: Half of it is okay. Rewrite of the other half in progress.
Act 3: Fully written. Major edit and polish pending.
These things take time, especially when I'm obsessing over perfection. Thank you for your patience. I love you all!
Damn tease.

Shush. You know you love it. I think it's better than leaving you in utter silence until it gets done. Wouldn't want you to think I was dead or something. I am looking forward to finishing this damn thing so I can share it with you all.
So close!! I can't wait!

It's most likely the final draft, but there's still a lot of work left, so please don't hold your breath. I'll be picking up the pace in December. Hopefully I'll have it finished before Christmas so it can be a sort of gift to you all.
2620629 I hope so... I need a good Chanukah gift!!
