If you've looked at my user page, you will have noticed a section titled "WIP Stories."
I wanted to keep the descriptions there brief, but no such restriction exists here, so allow me to pontificate:
Project SALIGIA is my magnum opus in the works, I believe.
It will be a series of closely-related events, each one loosely based on one of the seven cardinal sins, and all tied together by an overarching story with a nice eschatonic atmosphere. I kind of want it (or at least the bulk of it) to be similar to The Pony Psychology Series or Six Broken Ponies in terms of reading experience, where everybody is broken in their own special way and they have to rely on one another's fractures to mend their own.
This fic is going to be pretty long. I don't know how long yet, and that thought kind of daunts me, but not as much as it excites me. I like big things: long songs, long stories (shoutout to BlackRoseRaven and his absurd 99 Worlds Saga), so it would kind of make sense that I make a big thing myself, right? Going by current word count and extrapolating, my original estimate of "roughly Harry Potter-novel-length" seems to be holding strong.
I don't have any particular goals for this story in terms of writing style or verbiage, except to maintain stylistic consistency and grammatical integrity. I can wax purple at times, and wane beige at others, and there's not a whole lot I can do about that.
A Spark Neglected is an OC-centric story based around my namesake. This started off as a really dumb idea, and the more thought I put into it, the more well-formed and brilliant it becomes (if I can say so much about my own work).
The character, a pyromaniacal arsonist pony who ruins everything he touches, is an interesting psychological profile. He reflects the part of a tragedian's mind that corrupts and mars every thought. The plot—which has entirely metamorphosed several times—revolves around him getting close to things and then ruining them through his own doing, much like how I have darkened the setting through my iterative reimaginings. The concept of a "cleansing fire" is an ancient one, but foolish. When something is burnt, it is not cleaned. It becomes charred, blackened and brittle.
I intend this one's prose to be as purple as I can maintain, because why not, and I have an interesting thing planned involving fire imagery.
the other two stories are of no consequence and probably will never even happen so just whatever
also wait before I forget, since the original link was kind of veiled and hidden, you can read the super-old version of A Greater Cause here. It is unfinished and very different in style from where I am now but still kinda neat but also really dumbAlso everything I write will be pre-S4 canon because I'm a crotchety bastard who doesn't want anything to change Really all you have to do to make something season 4 canon is, wherever Twilight is concerned, replace "unicorn" with "alicorn" and "library" with "castle"
