Hi! I'm Lilly and today I would like to talk about something very close to one's heart! LOVE LANGUAGES! 
We Pegasus are the embodiment of the emotional strength, Unicorns are mental, Earth Ponies Physical. But we are Emotional! And what is more emotional than Love itself?
Now I am not talking about the fluffy romantic love that we are all very much aware of. But the Friendship love. That display of affection that tells another that you care and that they care about you.
There are five main love languages. (From My strongest to weakest)
Acts of Service.
Gifts
Quality Time
Words of Affermation
Touch
(I am not 100% sure on Fluttershy but the rest I am pretty sure of)
Now everyone needs all five but each pony has one that they speak the best and one the receive the best. I don't mind getting hugs, and I will give them all day long. But there comes a point where I just want to be left alone. That does not mean being touched means nothing. In moderation I quite enjoy it. But I would rather you do something for me.
Now I am going to start with Acts of Service AoS is my strongest, as I have already stated. I love doing things for ponies (publicly and not) and seeing the reactions when they walk in to having whatever I did done. But this also means that I feel... let down if a job I expect out of a friend doesn't get done. I put a great deal of pressure on myself to be sure that I let nopony down. I think Applejack embodies this one the best. Her need to constantly be doing things for her friends and family is a dead give away (Apple buck season)
The next is Gifts. Now this one isn't so hard. We all LOVE getting things. And they all say it is more blessed to give than to receive. Shoot we have an entire holiday wrapped around this concept. But to some people getting and giving gifts is their life. They show their appreciation for others through items. Unfortunatly this means that if a gift was... not quite appresated... the pony giving feels like they are not appreciated. And it hurts them to tell another when a present that was given to them was, not liked, or absolutely hated! I have a relative who this is their love language, my Grandfather Stellar. Now it just so happens that he thinks buying bracelets for us girls is really neat. One problem... I don't like jewlry all that much. (Besides one or two choice necklaces) so telling him to quit buying me bracelets was... well it did not end well. I will put it that way. For me I think Rarity embodies this the best. First of all she is the element of Generosity. The episode that shows it the best is Suited for Success.
The third is Quality Time. Ponies with this love language will find excuses to simply be around others. Not necessarily doing anything! Just hanging out. We are now getting to the ones that I struggle with (a lot) in the 'speach' department. I am very much a home pony... so ponily... I struggle. I think Pinkie does do a very good example of this one at work though. (Too Many Pinkies) Pinkie needs to be around her friends in order to show them that she cares. And splitting yourself five ways is... too many pinkies! In Griffin the Brush off, Pinkie almost drives Dash NUTS with her constant need to be near her. And when Gilda shows up Pinkie has problems sharing her friend.
The fourth is Words of Affirmation . Now this one is probably the easiest to show. Simple 'great job' and '' is all that is needed. I believe this is Rainbow Dash's strongest. She is constantly tooting her own horn and seeking out the praise of others. Just look at her newest song! Awesome as I want to be! Dash NEEDS the praise of others in order to feel like she is important. But it is this same need that has been her downfall time and time again, namely in the Mysterious Mare Do Well. Yeah I think Quality Time is important as is Acts of Service but it is the Words that really get to her.
The fifth and final one is... Drum roll please!... TOUCH! Now I am not sure if Fluttershy is truly the pony who embodies this the best. Yes she has her animals, many of whom she keeps in her hair, but she isn't all that fond of just being... handled. This is personally my weakest so spotting it is very difficult... unless it is from somepony who has it very strongly directed towards me. But since she is the only one we have left (Besides Twilight who I am certain does not have touch as her number one.) I chose her for my image. Dash and Pinkie actually have this a LOT stronger that Fluttershy does. Ponies with the love language of touch need to be hugged, kissed, petted... loved... a lot. They beg to hold hooves... brush wings... guide with wings...

Darling, Lily, darling, I agree wholeheartedly with what you have here, the only issue is that you should have switched Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. Pinkie Pie is a much stronger touch than Fluttershy is.
I'm touch, by the way, so I know about these things.
