Something positive for a change!
I'm going to go into this optimistic. I've always been way more forgiving of the shortfalls Equestria Girls has than most of the fandom, mostly because I find them equally entertaining as humans. I don't buy into this pony-only obsession that some seem to have.
I'm sure a lot of us are curious as to what the plot of the movie will be. Given the trend, it will probably feature a villain, because I highly doubt they'd make an entire movie out of a plot like Applebuck Season. Not that I would be disappointed if they did...
Anyway, feel free to share your ideas on who the potential villain might be. I'm going to hope it's Chrysalis, with an actual on-screen name for once. A proper changeling invasion that doesn't rely on such a contrived plan would be far more interesting than what Cadance brought to the table.
If it's a new villain though, I'm going to indulge and hope they continue with the Greek mythology trend they've carried through the show. Maybe Poseidon himself wants to flood Equestria and transform all of the ponies into aquatic beings. (He did have a thing for horses after all.)
I doubt they'd break out Medusa in any form, much as I'd love that. In that trend however, maybe they'd do something with Arachne instead?
How about a return of Sombra or Nightmare Moon? I mean a comeback for either one would be great as long as they do better on Sombra.
I think I saw something about this somewhere else, but I don't really recall what it was.
Too far off to get excited yet - there will be at least an entire season between now and the time the movie gets released, probably two.
Beyond that, if they do a movie I'd actually prefer that they re-use an existing threat. Sombra or Tirek, for instance.
