Princess Celestia's unofficial daughter. when Celestia 1st gained her power over the sun she put too much of her magic into the sun which birthed a new Alicorn Aya Star. She lived in the sun till the fateful night Princess Luna was banished to the moon. sensing something was wrong on the world below her Aya left the sun and travailed to the world she eventually set up a kingdom outside of equestra. her small kingdom which was eventually called the star kingdom slowly grew over the next thousand years. Celestia would get a taste of her daughter during her time on the sun she spent when nightmare moon came back. by taste i mean she would feel that another power was touching her sun. 10 years after Nightmare Moon was defeated and 9 years after Princess Twilight got her castle and lost her Library Discord decided to have fun with the Star kingdom his prank was to force the star princess to surrender to Equestra which was a lot bigger than the star kingdom Aya fearful for her ponies quested to Equestra to see why they wanted her to surrender. (this is where her story would begin.)
Aya looks like Celestia when she is angry. except her flames are pink and her coat is still white. she is about the same size as Luna was after she was freed from the nightmare.

Does she have any power over the sun?
Yes and no. Yes she is able to use the sun like a big battery. no she can not usurp control of the sun from Celestia.
What is she the princess of?
this story is one of those where not all alicorns have to have a domain. she is the princess of the star kingdom. (if you absolutely need to giver her a Domain it would be the Domain of Light.)
How does she have ponies? where they not all under Equestran Rule?
From what i gathered there are many pony kingdoms Equestra being the largest. She found ponies cowering in fear due to the way the sun and moon were behaving during the fight between Celestia and Nightmare Moon so she gathered them all together and protected them by creating light.
How did she get her name?
She fell from the sky like a shooting star.
What is her cutie mark?
She has not got one.
things i should mention about the star kingdom.
it was not always peaceful they have had many enemies but none of them could overpower an alicorn.
One of the enemies they just call the slavers who some how invented a collar that could enslave any being that they put the collar on and you would be forced to obey all commands the person who put the collar on you. Aya spent a few years as their slave but eventually she found out how the collars worked and got her freedom and it was the only known time she has shown anger where she burned the entire slavers kingdom to the ground even today its nothing but a large black patch of land. its also what made Aya learn to control her temper since she even burned the slaves. Aya keeps the collars around as a way to punish criminals depending on the crime you would spend a certain amount of time as Her Slave. after your time was up you would be freed and given a choice on how you wanted to live. if you broke the law and were collared 3 times and never learned your lesson you would spend the rest of your life collared. to mention the crimes have to be very bad before she would use the collars you would have to murder somepony or other very bad crimes before they were used.
