Dear Detective Comics Comics:

As an old not-so-old fan (since 2005) I've been a loyal follower of the tittles and characters I truly like and even love. I cried out pain when Ted Kord died and got exited when Jaime Reyes took the mantle.
I basically grew up with Michael John Carter. When he was a selfish sell out with a heart of gold, I was a lazy bump with no real objectives but still trying to be a good person. And when Booster Gold became the Greatest Hero the World never knew I decided to pick up my life and be responsible about it, and I did exactly that.
Thanks to masterpieces as Kingdom Come I learned what is justice and Kate Spencer showed me to be strong for others.
Seeing Jonah Hex walking the earth by his own taught me to value those around me, and seeing the Legion taught me the true worth of working together.
And, to be honest, a cardiac arrest was involved in how I reacted when Darkseid finally got his hand over the Anti-Life Equation.

When the New 52 came out, I was already grown up, so I decided it was MY turn to show you support. I read it and made my best to tag along with it. I still fear for the Court of Owls and every time I read how Wonder Woman learns about her past ans still stays true to herself I sheer a little tear out of admiration.

But after three years, I realized I was trying to fit in a world that wasn't the same. It was a true pain when I realized how I missed a whole month of reading just because of indifference. I secluded myself in your past, reading the classics and completely ignoring what you were doing in the same way you were ignoring what once made you truly great.
By that time I even stopped doing pixel art about comics, motivation just didn't came. It was the first time I stopped doing that since I started in a warm summer of 2007.

No more.

It was a dark moment in my life as a reader and the very first time I seriously considered leaving the fandom.

But now, I'm starting to really believe that good things doesn't simply die.

I saw that new event of yours, Convergence. At first I just thought it was just another one to celebrate, how many? Thirty years since the Crisis on Infinite Earths and Eighty years of existence. Being as honest as only John Stewart could be, I wasn't impressed, not even interested. Another crisis crossover to have one or two months of success just to be back on ignoring your own past and destroying what's left of it.

But the good Lunar Avenger Metal just published this article. I see Doctor Harleen Quinzel wearing her classic, topsy turvy costume. I see Donna Troy and what looks like the Titans fighting the Extremists. Dick Grayson wearing the Cowl once again.
And are those Stephanie Brown with Cassandra Cain?
Fighting a Silver Age traditional gorilla?!

I'm not gonna lie, Bruce taught me that suspicious is just a synonym of cautious. But Barry and Eel always said to look at the bright side of things. I'm watching that bright side, and it's shiny, very shiny.
I used to have this phrase, when nobody but me believed in something. I don't know how many people believe in this, but me?

I believe in DC Comics.

I don't believe DC will get rid of the New 52... I think... I think they SHOULDN'T get rid of it, because as much as I disagree with it? There are FANS of it, people who came into comics BECAUSE of the New 52 and there are older fans who actually DO enjoy it(For some reason that escapes me). I know what it's like to have a universe you've come to love be torn away from you. I believe we'll see this happen, much like with the classic Crisis, a fusion of worlds. The old Crisis? We got the Marvel Family introduced because of it, along with the Blue Beetle legacy, and so on...

Some New 52 stuff will stay, but honestly? If we can JUST get back to the basics and fan favorite versions of the characters we ALL love? I'll be happy. I found this tribute and at a time like this? It seems more than appropriate

It's a very complicated thing. Some characters like Blue Beetle (from interesting teenage hero to racist joke) or Green Arrow (from political conscious character to Batman rip-off) really suffered for the N52 and NEED to come back to their roots.

Others like Arsenal (from traumatized drug addict to lighthearted and sympathetic) or I, Vampire (from background joke to a full EPIC! story) really got the best from it.

It would be terrible unfair to just wipe out what is essentially a whole new universe by simply saying 'my continuity is better'. We already saw how unfair, cynic and even hypocrite is to do so in Infinite Crisis. No, I wouldn't like for DC to turn its back to all those fans that love their heroes and villains in the same way we learned to love ours.

Maybe there's hope anyways. Maybe a 26/26 distribution for both sides. I don't think it should be THAT complex. Marvel did it during years with its Ultimate line, why no DC?

But anyways, it could be a whole new line or just a single one-shot, OUR heroes and villains are coming back for at least one moment. Lets forget the darkness for a second and celebrate the light.

2589078 And that's just it isn't? FOR EVERY GOOD THING IT DOES! It screws over something else and not just slightly, but HORRIBLY.

I mean... THIS is an interesting idea right here

Billy channeling the powers of Shazam for ACTUAL magical stuff, this is a FANTASTIC idea. Billy has always been POWERED by magic, but he's never exactly USED magic to any great degree. That's always bugged me a little since he's meant to be the successor of a WIZARD! This? I like this idea.

And then there's this

I actually LIKE the idea of Clark and Diana dating, it's not a NEW idea but it's an interesting and enjoyable one... The problem is that we KNOW it won't last. DC is already getting BORED of it if Futures End is anything to go by. This idea only works in Elseworlds or in fan fiction. That's it.

And we know they won't actually marry the two off since at THIS point marriage is the biggest sin imaginable to DC. Obviously... Hopefully, that will change soon, but as of right now this romance was doomed from the start so there's no real ATTACHMENT to it. And that's not even the tip of the iceberg.

I'll admit it, that SHAZAM! panel made me reconsider to catch up with the Justice League.

2589151 It's worth it mainly for the improving of New 52 Billy and seeing Lex and Supes work together.

2589160
Meh, I'm not very fond of that last one. For me Lex represents the ultimate selfish. Working together with anyone doesn't really fits with my personal view of the character. I liked his appearance on Infinite Crisis nad in Final Crisis, pulling an enemy mine with Supes but only because of the bigger bad.

2589168 That's it though, Lex is being a superhero BECAUSE he's selfish. He's had a taste of being a superhero, being loved by people, and he wants MORE. He's being a superhero because it feeds his ego. The second it no longer serves that purpose? He'll move onto something else.

It's just me, or the story 'Lex Lapsum' is bound to happen?
