    Joining the Army

Well, for a lot of reasons I won't go into here, I enlisted in the United States Army. Since I've got some college I get to go in as an E-3 (Private First Class) instead of a basic Private.

Also, the MLP movie and the new Bladerunner are both great. Go see them.

    New Chapter Update

New chapter is 2,200+ words so far. It's very dialogue-heavy at the moment (1,500 words split between two conversations alone) and although I'm trying to trim it down to make it more concise, the chapter's probably still gonna be mostly talking even after editing.

Status; New chapter of Ghost Recon

So, I haven't died or anything. Writer's block and real-life stuff have kind of screwed my writing, but I'm getting back on the saddle. New chapter is 6,334 words so far.

My laptop has trouble connecting to WiFi and that's been going on for a while. So I'm writing and posting this from my phone.

Also, I might write a post on what happened last Tuesday night and what happens from there.

NATO/OTAN and the Eastern Threat to Europe

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) - known in the organization's other official language as OTAN (Organisation du traité de l'Atlantique Nord) - is a mutual defense pact. It's not a monolithic entity meant for all conflicts, where if one nation goes to war for any reason every country in NATO has to follow along. On the most basic level, it's defense and

College is a bitch; Ukraine update; Happy 60th Godzilla! · 7:06pm Nov 3rd, 2014

College is taking up a lot of my time, and isn't leaving much time for writing. The fact that I can't get a regular work schedule -or even a schedule at all until Mondays - and have to haphazardly alter my homework schedule around work because of that makes things worse. Even playing video games has to be limited to weekends, and my home internet connection is unreliable, making a lot of that a pain.

Ukraine has held its first elections since the EuroMaidan protests.

The government in Kiev consolidated its power in two parties. The Petro Poroshenko Bloc won 132 seats, followed by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk's People's Front with 82 seats. 214 seats would not be a majority under normal circumstances, separatists in eastern Ukraine have blocked voting, so 45 seats of Ukraine's 450-seat Parliament remain unfilled, giving the coalition between the parties of the President and Prime Minister a de facto majority.

The separatists held their own elections this week. Going into the election, polls for the head position of the Donetsk People's Republic indicated a tight race between Aleksandr Zakharchenko and Aleksandr Zakharchenko.

From the NYT:

Aleksandr A. Prokhanov, the editor in chief of the Russian nationalist newspaper Zavtra, who has advised separatist field commanders including Mr. Zakharchenko on ideological questions, said in an interview over the weekend that the Donetsk People’s Republic would not be bound by rigid Western ideas of democracy.

“There are elections when you choose between A and B, and then there are the more difficult ones when you choose between A and A,” he said. “You are a liberal, so you do not understand this. In the Russian consciousness, you can choose between A and A and A, and choosing between an infinite number of A’s is true freedom.”

That's some Orwellian shit right there. Then again, since the separatists created the Federal State of Novorossiya and its unapologetic neo-Soviet policies, it's not that surprising. One of their leaders is a guy whose name sounds like a Slavic version of my real name and writes sci-fi books, but they're all centered on the premise of Russia conquering the objectively evil West; it's basically perpetually pooper-pained commie wish fulfillment.

Whoever does not miss the Soviet Union has no heart. Whoever wants it back has no brain. - Vladimir Putin

The Belkan Novorossiyan flag. Their war flag, which is different, is basically the Stars 'n Bars (the flag of the former Confederate States of America) but without the stars.

Meanwhile, the cease-fire that has been active for the past few months remains so - albeit in name only, as it was since the beginning.

Here's a video of the volunteer Donbass Battalion (composed entirely of civilians, most of whom have no military experience).

The G-Man is celebrating his 60th birthday today. No, not the 2cryptic4u character from the series that will never get another game because Valve is EA-tier now and just puts their name on every game they've "made" since after The Orange Box.

I'm talking about the King of the Monsters: Godzilla. Who we all know is a total bro when he's not hungry.

PutinPutler should blow his brains out with a .44 calibre revolver. Then again, rumour has it he has cancer or something, so I think it's safe to say that Hell is where he'll end up.
