I've been busy the last few weeks trying to isolate the problem and fix it on a fairly tight budget.Lost some progress... · 2:24am Nov 2nd, 2014
Right, so among other things I've been working on a Nightmare Night oneshot, in addition to my other updates. Unfortunately, for reasons that are utterly beyond me, my latest word files have all been, I don't know, corrupted. The point is, there's going to be yet another setback for any new stuff coming from me. Fortunately, I still have everything in my head, but it is going to take me some time to re-type things.
It sucks but, well, might as well take is as a lesson to save extra copies to avoid this kind of mess in the future.
For now, I do have something I can share with you guys. A timeline for both my completed fics, and some of the story ideas I have for the future. Just to show you guys that I'm not slacking off, when it comes to brainstorming ideas:
-Future Story Idea- Chrysalis' Changelings discover junk mail, and have a less than measured response. Hilarity and a Musical number ensues. Probably going to be my first attempt at depicting a song in a story, and it let's me flesh out the Changelings a bit more.

-Diamond Tiara goes to Boot Camp --In-Progress

-Future Story Idea- Prince Blueblood, now in the early stages of a relationship with Twilight Sparkle, invites her over for brunch at his private estate. Along with Rarity, Luna, and Cadance, our youngest Princess gets to know her handsome Prince a bit better. She also gets to meet Blueblood's somewhat...quirky staff of servants. Mostly light-hearted comedy, and some fun OCs causing havoc. Loosely inspired by the MaidRPG.
-Future Story Idea- Princess Celestia, Princess Luna and Queen Chrysalis have a private discussion about international politics. It does not go smoothly. Just a chance for some interactions between those three, as well as some additional world building. Probably only a couple of chapters long.
-Future Story Idea- Twilight is having some doubts about dating Prince Blueblood. She's never really dated anyone before, he's over a decade her senior, and he is technically her brother-in-law, so she feels she needs some relationship advice. Unfortunately, Princess Celestia is busy with other affairs, and Queen Chrysalis is just bored enough to take a swing at it. Mostly just a humorous aside.
-Future Story Idea- Twilight receives a mysterious package at her home, one containing magical mysteries and a great deal of history. A somewhat more serious story, that let's me set up a long-term story arc and explore Celestia and Luna's distant past. Will mostly be centered upon a flashback of events over 2000 years in the past. More world building.
-Future Story Idea- Celestia and Chrysalis get some alone time together. Some time to enjoy one another's company, to share in their affection with each other without any onlookers, and to deal with some lingering issues that are putting a damper on their relationship. Mostly just a short piece, mostly dealing with some of Chrysalis' worries and concerns about the relationship, Celestia being supportive, acknowledging that things aren't perfect between them, but that they do still care for one another deeply and some general good feelings. An opportunity to show that it isn't just snark and banter that brings these two together.
-Future Story Idea- My take on Equestria Girls. Things go in some different directions, that hopefully let me address some of the issues with the first movie, while still being interesting. Primarily centered on Twilight, Sunset Shimmer, and Trixie.
-Future Story Idea- The Summer Sun Celebration is almost upon us! Yes, even though I'm already a full season behind the show, I do intend on doing my own take on last season's premiere. Twilight's still fostering peace between ponies and changelings, more specifically Cadance and Chrysalis. Discord's own naughty little plan with the Plunder-Seeds goes wildly off-the-rails. And quite naturally the Discordians have decided that now is the perfect time to hold their festival celebrating all things disorderly, as well as their guest of honor...Princess Luna!...Chaos, freedom and disharmony are all well and good, but most everypony still remembers Discord as a world-class jerk. A chance for some adventure, some twists on the last season premiere, and a chance to develop Discord a bit.
-Future Story Idea- The Great and Powerful Trixie comes crashing back into Twilight's life, along with ancient prophecies, evil forests and all-powerful...lizards? Trixie finally has an opportunity to be a true hero, but can she handle it? Can Twilight handle Trixie? Lizards?!
So, yeah. As you can see, I still have plenty of ideas in the pipeline. This isn't even all of them Just not nearly enough time to get them out as quickly as I would like to. Hopefully that will change in the next few weeks.
Well, I can say I am very much looking forwards to most of that, especially the Celestia, Luna, and Chrysalis story because I am very curious to see how Luna gets along with Chrysalis. The junk mail also sounds like it is going to be a blast and I am curious to learn more about your changelings because we did not get nearly as much about them in Intermediate Lessons as I expected, although it is not as big a question for me as Luna at the moment.
The only story I am not really interested in is the historical one because I feel like the past is mostly a structure to build the present on in the show with very little of substance to actually draw attention to itself so I do not usually see much point in digging into it that deeply, although I will probably give it a try anyways. I am also a little uncertain about the Equestria Girls, Summer Sun Celebration, and Trixie stories, although I feel like that is more a function of the vague descriptions which do not give me a very good idea of what will actually happen (which makes sense given that they are adventure stories so spoilers are bad) than anything else so that is not at all a problem.
I am looking forward to more of Twilight and Blueblood's relationship.
2569016 Mm, yeah, I couldn't go into too much detail on the ones you mentioned, and for the reason you described. Those will all probably be fairly long stories, and I can't mention much about them without giving away any major points.
And I'm still planning on giving a detailed account of the changelings in a blog post, probably after the next chapter of Intermediate Lessons, covering a lot of the details I couldn't go to deeply into in the story.
I'd love to read basically all of those, but especially the TwiBlood related ones.
2569237 Well, the first part is exactly what I thought it was. I am sure it will be interesting, but it is hard to get really excited about something when you cannot have much information without spoiling the whole thing.
The second part though, that makes me very happy because I love world building.
