So, The Mare in Apartment Forty-Two is one of the better things I've written, but unfortunately I won't be continuing it. There's a few reasons, but the most pertinent is that it is really isn't a MLP fanfic. While it's set in the universe, its cast is entirely OC's and only loosely revolves around Manehattan. This was pointed out by a few people, but even as I wrote it, I knew that to be true.
So, the next reason I won't be continuing it is because i have the completely non-pony version nearly completed, and I will be attempting to publish it. There's no point in disguising my work as a fanfic, but it was nice to see how many people enjoyed reading what I had written.
Lastly, if I have the fanfic out, there's always chance for copyright claims to be made when I go to publish the real thing, and I don't want to lose my work, and more importantly, I don't want it stolen. It would be too easy for someone to take everything I'd posted on this site, turn Manehattan to Manhattan, change hooves to hands, mare to woman, and publish a completed story before I could. That's paranoia, but I think I'm justified.
All in all, thanks for reading what I wrote, and I hope that if I do manage to get "The Woman in Apartment Forty-Two" published, that you'll all read it.
I for one would love to read a work of yours in the non-pony universe sometime. Keep up the awesome work Mr. Draft, I look forward to reading your future work.
