    Cut Story Ideas

A year has passed since I finally finished This Can't Be Happening. Quite a lot has happened since then for me and as I predicted the end of that story didn't come with much fanfare, but it was at least a huge load off and satisfying feeling to finish it after all that time. That's left me with Don't Go To Sleep, the other story abandoned by my lazy update schedule. Back when I finished TCBH I

This Can't Be Happening is Finished (Finally)!

Well, it only took me just short of 7 years, but yes I finally finished this damn story. It took me so long to finish the thing that I honestly doubt there's anyone left to read this blog, but damn it all I'm happy to have this thing done and there's a lot I want to say about it even if I'm just talking into the void.

A question to potential remaining Don't Go To Sleep readers

Something something, it's been months since my last update, something something you know the rest. I'm gonna put a fork in mentioning the wait and first talk about Don't Go To Sleep before I ramble about This Can't Be Happening in a different blog. Alright, so, with one long drawn out story finally done the question remains what to now do with the other. So to keep this short and sweet, I'm

    Laziness and Stubbornness

Hello again. It's been a while, hasn't it? How are the kids? Is the missus doing well? Good, good.

Do the impossible, see the invisible

So, judging by the whopping 7 views on my last blog post, I think it's safe to assume that a lot of my followers have either left the website by now or are tired of my shit after the terrible update schedule that was 2013 for me. Or maybe it had to do with my last post being a wall of text. Either way, I think people will be glad to hear that another update for This Can't Be Happening is out!

October Update · 8:54am Oct 26th, 2014

Time for the first blog post of 2014! And it's only... nearly the end of October. My last blog post was during mid-August last year. I got some catching up to do. Prepare for a wall of text!

So, obviously I'm making this blog post because I updated today. I actually put an update out in February, but I knew that another dry spell was coming with all the stuff that I had coming up at the time, so I didn't make a blog post back then. I'm making one now because I don't think I'm going to just go back into hibernation this time like I usually do after an update. I don't know why, but this October has been really good to my writing. I sat down and wrote the new update to This Can't Be Happening like it wasn't even nothing. While I was getting editing from Brony_Fife (who you should totally check out if you haven't already because he has some kick ass stories), I also put out a whopping three new chapters for another one of my stories over on Fanfiction.net. The writing bug really bit me this month, and I've been loving it. Now that the new chapter for TCBH has been cleaned up and uploaded, I want to keep going. I have a goal that I want to try and meet. It's very possible that I won't meet it, but I'm gonna try. The goal is to get This Can't Be Happening done by Christmas. I have about 4-5 chapters left for the story, the next one being another Lyra chapter. If I can get two or three chapters out during November, I think I can make it happen. Now I know what you're thinking, "Shed, you haven't put out multiple updates in one month in ages." Well, I know. But lets try and break that curse, eh? Also, readers of Don't Go To Sleep may notice that it's marked as "On Hiatus" right now. I have a reason for it so don't beat me up or anything just yet. The only reason why it's marked as such is because I want to focus on TCBH since it's pretty close to being done. Once it's complete, DGTS will be back in all its spooky and gory goodness. I'll also try my hand at Equestria Daily when I update Don't Go To Sleep. Hopefully it isn't too bloody for it to be considered. It's actually going to get bloodier in a few scenes in the future, but they don't need to know that. But yeah, the point is that Don't Go To Sleep is very much alive, I'm just marking it as On Hiatus because I'm going to focus on finishing This Can't Be Happening before I continue it.

As for my writing in the future past these stories, I don't know. I'm very hesitant to start another multiple chapter story after how poorly I've handled updating This Can't Be Happening and Don't Go To Sleep, but if any long running story is going to follow them, it'll be the Ed Edd n Eddy crossover that has been on my mind for literally years. Besides that, if I decide to make a new story then it'll be a one shot. I'll test the waters and see how I feel about other potential stories once TCBH is done. Also, I'd like to give two shout outs after looking through the stats on my stories. First, to whomever linked Don't Go To Sleep on Equestria Daily, I really appreciate it. A lot of people followed those links and gave the story a read. I only wish I had more stuff for them to read when they followed the link. They will soon! Second, I want to thank whomever made a TV Tropes article for A Pimp Named Spikeback. A whopping 350 people visited the story from there! That's radical. I really appreciate seeing someone make a page for one of my stories and it has me considering making pages for my other stories since that one seems to be a success. If only I knew the first thing about TV Tropes.

In non-fan fiction news, I know I'm late to the party on this, but how about that season 4? I really enjoyed it. It's probably my second favorite season of the show behind season 2. Blew season 3 out of the water, that's for damn sure. I'm still not the biggest fan of Twilicorn, but I love that they at least made something entertaining out of her. That finale was unbelievable and it started out by addressing the one concern that I had during season 4, the fact that Twilight now being a princess added jack shit to the plot. Well, maybe it did in that one CMC episode where everyone wanted to have Twilight Time, but that was one episode. Great finale and great season. Lets hope season 5 is just as good. It has also come to my attention that The Hub is kill, replaced by Discovery Family or something like that. That's a shame. Hub had some really cool shows even outside of ponies. Aquabats, Dan Vs, and The Haunting Hour were all enjoyable watches for me. RIP Hub, you'll be missed.

As far as news outside of ponies is concerned, two words can sum up the biggest hype that's been going on for me since my last blog: Smash Bros. Smash 4 is off the chain. Little Mac, my most wanted newcomer going into Smash 4, made it in to the game. Greninja, my favorite Pokemon starter of all time, made it in. Robin, someone I really wanted in despite many people telling me I was stupid for suggesting him over Chrom, made it in. Duck Hunt Dog, my second most wanted retro rep behind Mach Rider, made it in. ROB, my favorite Brawl newcomer that was on what seemed like everybody's cut list, returned. Freaking Mega Man and Pac Man made it in! Needless to say, I absolutely love the roster, I can't even be mad about Dark Pit and Lucina. Just the other day we had the Smash for Wii U direct that confirmed stuff like 8 player Smash and Mewtwo DLC. Smash is too hype to handle. But Smash isn't the only videogame hype thats gone on since my last blog. There's also Legend of Zelda, Pokemon remakes for Ruby and Sapphire, Yoshi's Wooly World, Splatoon, Pokken Fighters... can you guys tell that I have a big Nintendo bias when it comes to videogames? My poor PS4 wishes it got even a 10th of the action that my Wii U and 3DS gets.

Honestly, the most I could say about a non-Nintendo game right now would be for a little indie PC game that has become a bit of an internet sensation these past few months. I of course talk about Five Nights At Freddy's. The thing with that game is that I was there to see it go from neat little indie horror talked about here and there on the web to the biggest thing since Slender. I remember when we were talking about how to possibly beat Night 5. It was a while before the likes of Markiplier and RoosterTeeth put out videos for the game. It was pretty neat being there to see a game go through such a big surge in popularity. Of course, with an increase in popularity comes an increase in something else

Holy SHIT did the porn take off. It started off as a joke at first because "lol, we're making these big ugly murder robots that may or may not have dead kids in them into lewd things with tits" but then the porn just kept coming. And coming. And coming. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the game for what it was and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

So, that about covers it I guess. I could talk about my personal life, but nah. What is this, a blog?
Tldr: Update is out, Don't Go To Sleep will continue when This Can't Be Happening is done, might do more writing after those stories but I'll wait for my current stories to be done before I decide, season 4 was great, Hub will be missed, Smash is awesome, Five Night's at Freddy's has a lot of porn but it's still cool.
