Challenge Failed · 5:52am Oct 22nd, 2014
So, on Day 22 with only 9 one-shots posted, I think it's safe to say I won't be completing the Oneshotober challenge this year.
The main thing has been a lack of time. Factoring in drive time and such, I basically work 10.5-hour days, and I've had really long blocks scheduled at work. Like 10 days straight. Plus there's been a lot that needed to be done in my life other than work, on top of that.
So I don't have much time to write, and on the rare occasion I do have time, I lack the energy and/or motivation.
On the other hand, I intend to do a review blog for the Oneshotober entries. As that stands at 92 fics so far (83 once you exclude my own), I expect I'll come to understand exactly the sort of regret Present Perfect feels after he does contest review posts.
I will also keep trying to publish all the one-shots I outlined on a fairly regular basis, and I'm also going to be trying to pick up chapter fics again (though I usually do NaNoWriMo as well, and I reserve that for original work, so we'll see how that meshes with fic writing). In fact, I have a challenge idea of my own that I'll be setting up and blogging about once we hit the end of the month.
You certainly aren't shy about shooting for lofty goals. You've got my kudos just for the moxie.

I openly acknowledge that setting completely unreasonable goals for myself is one of my more consistent character flaws.
Laziness and short attention span are two more, and they contribute a great deal to that first one.
I did not finish the challenge either...

Hey, you made the effort, which is more than I did.
9 stories is still nothing to scoff about.
